How big a jerk does that idiot Soup look like now? Just a few weeks ago he was claiming Kevin wasn't even a MM+ prospect let alone a HM prospect- guess someone forgot to tell Baylor Maryland, Marquette , Miami, Crighton Xavier etc etc ..seriously thats why that MAAC board is a cesspool, idiots like Soup or GG post whatever they want and pass it off as facts, SMH --his total fabrication of Siena refusing to take verbal from Kevin is comical

I'm sure Siena will keep the door open for him over the next four years

Edited based onTH's comment.
IF <use of BIG IF because I'm not sure they're correct.> what others are saying is true (reasons why Kevin won't come to Siena or Tom won't let him) it's really too bad. Siena might have gotten a really great potential player and beat out the HMs due to his family's connection with Siena.
I'd be willing to bet that IF <BIG IF again> Fran was still here, not only would Kevin probably come to Siena but Fran's son as well. I believe they were friends (or still are). Those two on the same Siena team would be awesome!!!
It's reasonable (or it's not unreasonable) to think that IF Fran were still here not only would the Success Siena had his first 5 yrs would have more than likely continued over the past 7 but that we'd probably land both Kevin & Fran's son at Siena. JMO.

I just love how speculation runs wild on this board! It's soo funny...because only a few know anything! And know enough to keep their mouth shut!

ITs a shame we can't seem to get these higher level local players- With Siena's strong basketball history, facilities and fan base you would think we could occasionaly land one... Especially one with a tie to Siena... I read we were close on Freddette years ago...

Siena has to recruit: 1. NYC-NJ
2. Greater Phil 3. Nalt-DC area
JPis only coverung Balt-DC.
If we had assistants with contacts in 1 and 2 , then anthing Siena gets from upstate is gravy. The City Rocks is a must for Siena

Tom Huerter (the father) is a smart basketball person....he is an excellent, concerned parent. He will help his sons make informed and realistic decisions on both their basketball and life choices. This has nothing to do with current staff at Siena and however it goes it should not be considered an endorsement or criticism of the Program.
If it were my decision, I would want my sons to avoid the toxic atmosphere of negativity put forth my a small number of voices that tend to dominate this board.

Really? you would avoid a school because of some anonymous posters?? Guess what, any school with an semblance of a fan base will have the same EXACT following. die hards, total whack jobs, etc.... no way one should make their decision based on what some crackpots say or don't say.... he could average 20 a night at whatever school and some percentage would bitch because he doesnt pass enough or some such nonsense.... its the world we live in, kids and parents better have a thicker skin, or steer clear of facebook/twitter/blog stalkers like some here, and you all know who you are!
those who know re: KH know why he isn't coming here, many reasons which have all been hinted or referenced to.

Realistic factors - Level of play best fit hoop/education and compatibility with staff and team members. Msg board posters ....I don't think they factor in ........

Yeah, the BCS schools don't have any wackadoos on their fan boards! lmao
I've never seen Frans kid (already a '16 commit) play, but heard he's a lot like Heurter. Maybe he doesn't want that kind of competition for his kid?

I would wager that Kevin's father is well aware that anyone who puts on a Siena uniform is shown a lot of love in the Cap District . . . I'm also sure that the best fit for Kevin will be chosen: both athletically & academically

Guys, chew on this a while. How many guys get drafted or make it the hard way into the NBA each year? KH is not a likely prospect to do either. As an intelligent, caring parent, does TH counsel his kid to attend a school (with maybe an exception for accounting) with a limited hiring appeal outside the Capital District, versus schools with national reputations? I don't think that is a hard question. This is a "life decision", you don't generally get to do it over. Fan base, game facilities, local press, mean nothing in the grand scheme, if the kid has ambitions and smarts after 4 years of MAAC basketball. Tom has been around the block, he will will help his son make the best decision, my guess is that does not include Siena. This in part is why the MAAC will always be the MAAC, this is not unique to Siena, few schools in the MAAC have programs that people who hire sit up and take notice, outside their local markets. Thus, kids who can help the academic index AND play ball are much sought after by bigger programs. It sucks, but unless Siena ups it's academic game they are rarely (not never) going to land (and keep)a serious student who can play ball. Just my 2 cents on the situation.
