Watching Siena without wright shows you how much he creates for the whole team Or.... that we have nothing close to a PG on the roster besides him

it was a fun game to watch-- road game in the end we just didn't have enough, same effort I feel fairly confident we beat Jaspers at TuC I don't know about fun lol. I just kept thinking. .. just keep it close so you have a shot at the end. Most of the second half felt like Siena had little to no chance for a W. Effort was very good

Kids played very hard if not very smart. Many of the fouls were stupid and ticky-tack. One possession game and Evan drives into the trees. Not what a senior should do. The next time we come down the court he fIls to pass to Poole in the corner and instead throws up a jumper from the foul line areas and misses. That was the game. Evan also started jawing early which earned him a T. Again, not smart. As someone noted, we really struggle without Quid. Lavin had a helluva game, but someone needs to get him beyond committing so many silly fouls and trying to play PG.. I'm not sure, but it seemed like every block/charge call was a block. After Sunday's lackluster effort, this was a joy to watch because of the effort and maddening at the same time because we did not value the ball. Good points. We all know lavon can score. I was really pleased to hear his own comments about his unforced turnovers. Between those and fouling out he winds up with a mediocre game despite a career high in points. It was good to see him recognize it. Hes being told hes a guard, its no surprise hes forcing it a little off the bounce. As everyone likes to say to me... evan is evan. His 3 turnovers were all stepping out of bounds (court awareness). Evan was disrupted by the length and athleticism manhattan had at guard. I was as annoyed as you at that shot selection at the most crucial moment. Wright was the only player on siena capable of taking his man off the dribble/using the dribble to create for others in this game. Whe he fouled out ... that pretty much sealed the deal. When he left you realized just how much they needed him in this game

I think we're seeing a little to much of guys wanting to be the savior in games, trying to take the team on their shoulders for the win and playing less team ball. Last night a team that was improving would have buckled down and come out of there with a 1or 2 point win.
Missed foul shots, I'll advised T's and 3 important players fouling out was the difference. I just don't see any improvement.

Lavon played 34 mins and fouled out with 18 secs left in the game. His last 2 fouls were trying to stop the clock. Lavon had one of his best games as a Saint
6-8 fg 1-1 3pters 7-10 FT 20pts 7rebs 3Asst 1stl 0B
And those numbers are very similar to Emmy Andujar 7-10 fg 0-0 3pts 6-9 FTs 20pts 4rebs 5ast 4Stl 0B
Andujar is a senior and Lavon is just getting started. Both had high turnovers last night as well.
Andujar 5TOs Long 6 TOs
Both had good games. Andujar was a little better and his team won. #TheNumbersDontLie

Wright fouled out with 4 min left and we still had a shot to win it. And were down 2 with 2 mins left. Ball movement was good we just didn't get buckets on those last 2 trips and came up short
Lavon is a primary ball handler on this team along with Wright who gets full court pressure to force the ball out of his hands. Lavon has shown the ability to get the ball up court and go coast to coast, set up the offense or drive and kick etc
Lavon has also shown he can create his own shot as well as create shots for his teammates. He is a SF for Siena with guard skills #Facts but really does not have a position

Siena is 1-7 in games where Long plays more than 27 minutes. They are 6-1 when he plays less.

Hopefully everyone remains healthy. If Paige can give us a little more and JO keeps his steady progress going, we should be very competitive.
