It seems much too early to tell if recruiting is lacking. WB will be a quality MAAC big and until we see more of Paige we cannot dismiss him. Wright and Long are quality recruits/players in the first year which are really Loyola recruits. Next year the we have a big averaging a double double as a HS senior and a backup pg with more ships to give. Get a ready to play athletic shooter/scorer and I would say the coaching staff is doing pretty well and is on target. Patience. If over then next two year nothing changes then you will have a more legitimate reason to call out the coaching staff's recruiting. I'm here to support the team especially through this tough stretch. But that is just me.

So how would you classify the loss of a 6'9" senior that started 53 of his 68 games at Siena? Insignificant? You said yourself before the season he would be averaging 5 minutes a game. You just want to argue because I said it here. Grow up . Why is it whenever someone disagrees with your position, you chalk it up to, "You just want to argue with God/you!?" You think you're a basketball expert, but if you were, you'd know losing a 6'9" SENIOR, that started more than 75% of his college games, before the season starts, is going to hurt a team. Both on the floor, and the lockerroom.

Year 2 is certainly not the end of the world or as bad as some here may believe, given the injuries, circumstances, off court issues. But it's DEFINITELY not going as well as we hoped it would. More signs then not pointing forwards mediocre program this is what I consider a fair critique of the program. critical, fair and not over analytical.

Guys in 2 years we will either be happy with JP or he is a bust...some of these arguments are hysterical. The board use to be informative and decent convo, now it's mostly speculation and bitching. It's cool to complain or get frustration out but wow some ppl complain just to complain. I agree. The key word is "frustration". I don't know why people let this get to them. Keep positive for the Team, coach, Admin, Siena, etc.. Unless you can make Siena (coach/admin) change just help the team with support. Bitching doesn't help anyone but yourself, and sucks energy for us fans trying to support this team (as is). thank you my friend.

Tony and bigsaint, you guys are like the guys who drool over the preseason all-league picks. It isn't about what someone thinks you can do before you actually do anything, it is about what you do. Let me explain. Tony points out that Jackson had an offer from Richmond. When his career was done he had scored 1164 points in 118 games (he was a "2 guard). Today, Evan has 1144 points in 108 games, mostly as a point guard, and with VERY limited minutes in games the past 2 years. Rob Poole has 1228 points in 106 games. Neither Rob nor Evan had offers from Richmond or any A10 school for that matter. Owen, despite his offers, failed to crack the 1,000 point scorer list playing in the MAAC for 4 seasons. Kyle Griffin was not only recruited by the A10, he played in the A10. Brandon Walters played in the Big East! What did they do in the MAAC? Sure you can say, so what? If they are being recruited by "up conferences" they are better players. I say if they are, and they still come to Siena, with rare exception (see Edwin.. and WHY he came to Siena) then they were just being recruited as "roster fillers" or "projects" and no one is going to build their team around them. Tell me which of the "up level" guys I mentioned YOU would build a team around? As soon as you compared Clarence Jackson to Evan Hymes-- you lost a lot of credibility, its clear you dont understand. And as for Poole had no interest-- why do you post this stuff when its clear you have no idea what you are talking about? Rob Poole is the last Fran recruit- and was very highly thought of, he committed to Siena in his Junior season. He chose Siena over Minnesota and had offers from , Delaware, Rider, Penn State, Fairfield, among others. Seriously you should just read recruiting posts and try to learn Tony.. read the part of your response (regarding Poole) that comes after "...and had offers from.." and tell me which of these was an "up level" program please? The answer is none of them. As for Hymes vs Jackson, don't tell me how good you are, show me how good you are. They keep track of points for a reason. If your" job" is to be a scorer at the 2G, you ought to score. The only comparison I was making was that CJ as a primary scorer wasn't really any better than the unrecruited Hymes who wasn't recruited as a scorer, or really all that good even in the MAAC or for that matter Siena. 29th today and headed for 30th in a couple of weeks on the all-time scorer list. He may have looked flashy, but they don't give you any points for flashy and you don't win any games for flashy.

A lot of this goes back to the way Patsos has always recruited for the flex. Big strong guards and jump shooting bigs, pass first point guards. He thinks it's all about mismatches on offense and tough defense and rebounding. I could see him recruit long, bouncy wings that can press and play man defense over shooters and guys who are going to take you off the bounce. Just think that is what people should be prepared for. I really hope that I am wrong and he gets a couple offensive minded, athletic guards who can score multiple ways. When we win this way no one will care and every fan will be happy

This year we just need to win the tournament and he has done that before #OneStepAtATime So, us Siena fans, that thought every game was important toward the post season resume, in a few short years are relegated to..."It's all about the MAAC season". Now... we've plummeted further to "it's all about the MAAC tournament." I love this game

This year we just need to win the tournament and he has done that before #OneStepAtATime JUST win the tournament-no problem there. Maybe we should win a game before we start talking about JUST winning the tournament.

I get that some here didn't want Patsos as Siena's coach, but it really is too soon to get on the I told you so soapbox. At this time the goal is to get to the NCAA tournament by any means necessary. Realistically with the injuries winning the MAAC or winning the MAAC tournament is our only option. It is not about lowering expectations, but having realistic expectations. Expecting an at large bid in Patsos' second year based on a gaudy OOC record is what is something less than realistic.
