Repeal of portions of Obamacare, border gets tightened up, amnesty is off the table, entitlements are cut, taxes get cut, defense spending and veterans benefits are increased grid lock ends and Obama gets impeached! Utopia! Seems like a MAGIC HAT is called for on the Republican side - where does the money come from? Minimal if any savings from repealing portions (first time use of that modifier!) of the Affordable Health Care Act and ill defined unquantified savings from entitlement cuts (which ones were you dreaming of?). Additional spending needed for border tightening, defense spending and veterans benefits (I guess these entitlements are sacred?). Impeachment will be a big item on the cost side too - your "let's get to it" Republicans won't have time to do any real work while focusing on political posturing to try and end a term that ends in two years anyway! Throw in reduction in actual revenue due to tax cuts! Abra Cadabra - more Republican cost cutting DEFICIT spending like we got under King George! The magic will work and POOF our economy will tank again. It will be fun to watch the Republicans lead and actually have to do the things they threatened during the last six years. My take - nothing gets done - they will spend the bulk of their time infighting with the tea drinkers. A diet of Kool Aid and Tea for two years. Yummy. Don't forget they will be risk averse getting ready for 2016.

As I have said in the past I'm not attached or registered with either party. I was a democrat for most of my life and a number of years ago I decided to reregister without a party affiliation.
That said, for me the lesser of two evils is the Republican Party, and it's not even close. MP's comments exemplify what is wrong with the Democratic Party, they are nasty, condescending demagogues that will never learn. A party that is ruled by scoundrels trying to garner support from hardworking people that don't have the time or the inclination to educate themselves on the issues of the time and reconciling those issues with reality.
I know MP is hopeless, and I certainly am not going to try to reform him. But the reality is, we have to get rid of ideologues, like our president, by not electing them. They exist on both sides! The dems have far, far more, I would submit, but the reps have some as well.

Dream on Dream Act. Now you ask where the money comes from? Unreal! You didn't answer my question. The items you id'd cost money - increases in border security and defense spending are big, big ticket items when you look at the Republican wet dream wish list. Not that hard a question - obviously hard for you to get beyond the Republican rhetoric and actually try and answer it.

I don't have to figure out how to pay for it, I didn't run for office. I voted for the folks I thought would make a difference, what you were reading is my wish list, my Dream Act so to speak.
Now, if I'd run I'd have all your answers. I have other things to focus on now, to make sure I can support my family, all those on the govt dole and try to put enough away to retire. I'm busy already. That's why I vote.

So what you are saying is your vote represents a blank check - you have no clue how the folks you vote for will actually do what they say OR HOW THAT WILL AFFECT YOU! Amazing!

Isnt that true with anyone that's elected? Whether a politician keeps his word? It all effects me as it does you. What's your point? Aren't we all voting for the blank check in some form or other? Remember the matriarch of your party "we have to pass it to see what's in it" line?
I just hope the checks are getting smaller. Why is this so hard for you to grasp?

Ok, let's try it from another direction. You said you are for increased defense spending. Share with us your view of what we need - more carriers, newer fighters, a larger standing army, more bases around the world, etc. ? I bet you just opt for a stronger defense because it sounds good. Where do you see our weaknesses? As to the AHCA repeal - yes, I do know how total repeal would impact me and many of my friends. Can the act be improved? Of course, that is true with anything once you see it in actual practice. How do you throw people off the bus now that got insurance through it's provisions (at their own cost, I might add) and send them back to the situation where they could not get insurance that was affordable?

I would like to have more carriers, fighters tanks and troops. I'd like to have a President who is respected, not toyed with by other world leaders. Id like to have a border that was secure. I'd like 100000 future welfare recipients to go back to Central America and come back through the legal process. I'd like health care to be affordable for everyone and not see my rates go up because it's now "affordable for all". I'd like racism to be a thing of the past. I'd like a whole bunch of things but mostly for people to be responsible for themselves and not rely on the government so much.
I think the Republicans can help with that.

Like I said, a magic hat - try balancing the cost for carriers, fighters, tanks and troops with a tax cut. Voodoo economics! More money out and less money in - VOODOOO HOOODOOOO!!!! How much did your health care costs go up DUE TO THE AHCA? Show me a year before the AHCA where health care costs didn't go up. If you experienced a cost increase this year - how do you relate it to the AHCA? Did your insurance company break it out for you? Now if your company said screw you buy your own now that it's available on the open market, don't blame the President, blame corporate greed and total disrespect for employees. GE said FU to us retirees - now that health care exchanges are available to all they said bend over! OBTW, future welfare recipients would have zero impact on today's budgets so you don't get any savings there.

So I guess nothing can or should be changed in your opinion. That's fine, I'll keep looking for the Magic Hat as you call it. The future welfare recipients are costing us money today. Who's paying to clothe, house and feed them now? We aren't the worlds orphanage.
As far as GE bending you over, you can blame it on corporate greed or the administration for opening the door, I'd blame the latter. It was my belief with the word "affordable" attached to this debacle costs would remain the same or decrease. So I see, your stuck with it so you want us all to be. Spread the pain because the people at GE can find loopholes in this wonderful program. I see where your coming from now.
Now that there is some Voo Doom!
Oh now we get 30 million new citizens with the stroke of the greatest magicians pen. Watch me pull an illegal outta my hat folks. Yes, Voo Doom!

You are talking to a "big government" liberal who thinks that the government should solve all problems and the government "creates" jobs. The party of grayson, Franken, pelosi, wasserman Shultz, ried, boxer, etc. - he supports the ideology of these nuts! As a non party voter, there are clearly more whackadoos on his side that need the magic wand pointed at them.
