Health care worker in Texas has it. I'd like to personally thank the administration for taking the painstaking precautions to keep us safe.

This is certainly something that they should have taken all precautions to prevent. I will add I would like to know more as to why we do not have a Surgeon General. I think a lot of that falls on the Senate failing to approve. If I understand correctly it has a lot to do with the Second Amendment. I have a hard time thinking we should have not had somebody to lead on this front over a mostly non health related topic. That's what the inability to work together can result in. We ar all Americans and we failed as a group to confront a threat. - |

I can't for the life of me understand why he sent troops there!!! What the do they know about Ebola? Everything this guy does makes absolutely no sense to me. Most if not all his decisions are an absolute 180 of what I would do.
How much will we spend on life saving health care for those who cross the border legally or illegally. I swear the this administration is doing everything to bankrupt the country by the end of their term.

I can't for the life of me understand why he sent troops there!!! What the do they know about Ebola? Everything this guy does makes absolutely no sense to me. Most if not all his decisions are an absolute 180 of what I would do. How much will we spend on life saving health care for those who cross the border legally or illegally. I swear the this administration is doing everything to bankrupt the country by the end of their term. He (I assume you mean President Obama) sent troops to build quarantine/treatment facilities to help the people fighting the spread of the disease. The troops will not be doing anything involving direct/indirect contact with the Ebola patients, they are there to supervise the building of adequate containment structures. |

th24 - why don't you share with us the way you would impose a travel ban. Which countries/airlines would be excluded from sending flights to the US? How would you control the origin of passengers on all flights coming to the US, e.g., how would you stop a traveler that left Liberia for Brussels, flew from Brussels to London, London to Montreal and then from Montreal to Washington. Trust me, someone who is bound to return to the US would take such a circuitous route to avoid a travel ban that controlled only flights from Liberia to Washington.

Read somewhere more people die from the common flu. We're just desensitized because there's annual flu shots & many people will get it over The season .
If a third world country gets any type of virus or contagion it spreads due to its unsanitary conditions/lack of care.

Yes MP I mean he as the President as he is the one with the pen. So we have 4000 experts "soldiers" in the construction of quarantine and treatment facilities in an area that's ground zero for this disease. I wonder if we'll detain them when they return or just throw them all back in the general population? You mean to tell me we couldn't send some directions, the materials and a dozen advisors to get these things up and running? There's aid workers that volunteer to go into places like that, use them. I guess if ebola ever comes here they'll have that quarantine building down to a science. |

I'm not much of a traveller but don't we already check the passport of everybody entering the country when they arrive? And doesn't that tell the country of origin? Not foolproof but wouldn't that catch a good portion. And we can certainly ban flights that originate from certain airports. Maybe I'm naive but it doesnt sound that difficult. |

It is very difficult to restrict travel according to those in Washington and our very own Andrew Cuomo.
I'm also having a hard time with the statements that this healthcare worker did some procedure incorrectly and contracted ebola. The fact that we were unprepared for the arrival of infected folks is alarming and if there had been a travel ban none of this would be going on.

Obama's doing nothing attitude!
1. No travel ban from West Africa!
2. Don't cancel passports for people suspected of going to fight for terrorist organizations! Unlike European nations!
3. Failing to take any concrete action to stop the spread of ISIS in Iraq & Syria!! Instead allowed a massive spread of terrorism under his watch! And according to Leon Penetta "regularly ignored the advice from his national security team, and instead made foreign policy decisions based on the opinions of his insular White House staff."
4. Obama's nonexistent border security plan!
