As a KC Royals fan, I looking to recruit all Yankee & Red Sox fans to help root the Royals on to the AL Championship series and then to the World Series. It's only fair since my Royals act as the farm team to the Big Boys. Let's go Royals!!!

All I know is I'm not allowed to watch the entire game or they'll lose. Went to bed during the Wild Card game losing 7-3 only to wake up winning 9-8 in 12 innings. Went to bed last night with 1-1 tie, woke up winning again in extra innings.
All I know is I won't be allowed to watch the entire game tonight. Call me superstitious, but I don't want to jinx them.

I want to thank everyone who rooted for KC last night. It worked, I went to bed with a 1-1 tie and they some how pulled off a third in a row playoff win in extra innings. I may have to rethink watching an entire game, but only IF KC is actually leading. So far I've only gone to bed with them tied or down by 4 with two innings to go. That first game Wild Card game must have been something to witness in its entirety by those fans in the stadium that night. Keep it up men, twenty nine years is a long time to wait between playoff games. Here's hoping for a World Series win ever 29 yrs.

Go Royals! I had to look him up. For some reason I couldn't remember him that well. I admit I was young and just started watching them in the mid 70's. For me it was my 100% Polish grandfather who pointed out Freddie Patek during a playoff game and told me that guy was Polish. From that point on I followed them basically for that reason. However I became a bigger fan of Brett, White, Wilson, Otis, McRea(Sr), Porter, etc.. Really started following them in the late 70's and 80's. They seemed to always make the playoffs but loose except for the two World Series appearances. Edited - I'm waking up now. I forgot Willie Mays Aikens & UL Washington. I think Washington was the guy that always had a toothpick in his mouth.

We have seen this from time to time- it's not about payroll or talent ! In any playoffs it's all about being hot and staying hot !

How could I forget Patek (didn't realize that's a Polish name) - for some reason Rojas' name stuck out. I kind of remember Patek was known for being short & tough. He and Rojas made a good DP combo. But all those guys were good. That was a fun team even though I was a big Yankee fan at the time (not so much now). Can never forget Brett going ballistic over the pine tar incident. I really liked Brett though, great competitive ballplayer. Don't know why I am blanking on their pitchers - they had at least one really good starter and a good reliever. Gonna have to go look it up.

I'm definitely thinking of Quisenberry and probably Saberhagen, although he was more 80's (Splittorf to a lesser degree).
Sadly, just saw that Splitorrf died in 2011 at age 64 to oral cancer (probably the chaw again).
Wow - And Quisenberry died in '98 of a brain tumor at just 45!

I can't believe I couldn't remember Rojas. I do remember Quisenberry & Saberhagen but forgot Splittorf. For some reason I always seemed to remember the hitters/fielders I'll never for get Al Hrabosky (had to look up how to spell it though - was going to spell it Harbrowski). He was the "Mad Hungarian " Dude was crazy. Think he was only on KC a short time. Vaguely remember Brett's brother was a pitcher, but wasn't very good. Beating St Louis in WS was bitter sweet because Darrell Porter was on St Louis at that time & he was finally getting his life turned around. Ah the memories.

I'd like to thank everyone who ended up rooting for my Royals these past 4 games. I still can't believe we got past Oakland, and never seriously thought we'd sweep the Angles.
Now it's two games in Baltimore before heading back to KC. Hey, who knows, maybe this is KC's year.

And the magical ride continues. KC up 5-1 & has to battle back to win the game in the 10th.
I thought I jinxed them by staying up & watching the entire game. First 2014 post season game I watched in its entirety. The O's had a chance to tie or win it in bottom of 10th.
What a win!!!

Gives me hope as a Raiders fan though I hope our drought isn't 29 years! Hope your Royals magic carries over this season to Siena!!

Wow! Six playoff wins in a row. Unbelievable! I still can't believe we battled back in the 1st WC game and haven't lost yet.
This is my World Series even if we don't win another game this post season.
Thank you all who are pulling for my Royals!!!
