It's a concept I brought up before which, in fact, was poo pooed by some of the management of this board. I still believe it is a path to success. Where does laziness get you? 15 bucks an hr I guess.
Well when we go to the 30 hr work week everyone will be making 450 a week. A true socialist even playing field. Bring on the green gear! Viva Obama!

I don't know about $15, but I'm in favor of a minimum wage increase. The cost of fast food burgers are way too low, no wonder America is fat. Raise the minimum wage and put some of these guys out of business. Look at Australia, their minimum wage rate is $17 in US dollars and Bloomberg ranks that country the 3rd healthiest country in the world. Hmmm.

That increase wouldn't just raise the cost of burgers, but would raise the cost of every product and service if the wage increase is universal. Everyone's wage would go up incrementally essentially destroying the purpose. The reality is that some folks are looking for wage equality, and that doesn't work. A very small population gets paid at the minimum wage. I believe the real goal is to raise all wages by raising the minimum wage.

So I read a lot from people like you about why the minimum wage shouldn't be r increased and some of it does have merit...but... What, if any solution do you see for the rising inequality and erosion of the middle class? Or do you simply think it isn't a problem at all?

I do think the erosion is a problem, but I also think government has created it. Additionally our current president has raised taxes on the middle class which has made it worse yet he still has supporters like you. It has gotten worse under the current administration which idolizes European socialism -which has little if any social mobility. We need to clone Milton Friedman and make the clone president.

And I believe it is the corporate world and greed that has caused the erosion. Government hasnt helped...but is nothing more than a puppet of the corporate world. Money dictates law. The corporate world has the money
