Siena needs to builds a better relationship with the City Rocks. Talent right in the back yard. Did you happen to notice who Patsos hired as his third assistant?

Why is that piece making it sound like he's out of options? I thought I read somewhere that he had an offer from Albany too. He can just go there instead. Now, if they've pulled their offer too, then that would be unfortunate for the kid. Borderline D1 player...UA does NOT have an offer out to him nor are they even considering him.

Did UAlbany rescind its offer to him or are you saying UAlbany never offered? Per Verbal Committs UAlbany was not only perusing him but offered him (along with BU & Siena). Is VC incorrect (UAlbany never offered) or are you simply providing updated info that UAlbany is no longer interested like it was before?

They kept an eye on him for a bit but he hasn't been on the radar in a while. They got Cremo and moved on...

really? A better shooter than anyone on the team??? None of us have any clue if he would have been able to translate his game to D1..... Yes really………I’m just talking about shooting, I’m not talking about his ability to play D1. Siena doesn’t have a pure shooter on the team. Just my opinion. The kid shot 29% from three last year and 62% from the FT line and plays vs weak competition. If he's the best shooter on our team, we should consider dropping down about 15 conferences.

But why did Jimmy initially offer him if, as the kid says, we did?

But why did Jimmy initially offer him if, as the kid says, we did? He had a decent year the year before. It was a pre-emptive strike. He shot like 38%. But now after 3 years he's sitting at career percentages of 33% and 67%. Not exactly shooting specialist numbers. It's like Sterling Taplin, many come out of the gate hot with hype and they fizzle out. It's mostly cause they have that initial 'look.' I'm not even sure if Taplin will go D1 at this point. His shooting looks atrocious. 22 for 122 from three for the City Rocks over the last 2 years. That's 18%. 22.6% over three years. And he's not that much better from 2 pt range. He's just like Taran Buie. He'll shoot 25 shots and score 12 points. I'd consider paying guys like that to not be on the team.

Not that it matters since this is about a recruit we're no longer on, but the story originally posted to start this thread said that he shot 48% from 3 last season.
Why the crazy disparity on stats being posted?

Very good question. Could be his overall FG% or the guy was just wrong. I'm sure Maxpreps isn't 100% updated or 100% correct but 48% 3 pt shooters get offers and keep them. My guess is the guy just doesn't know what he's talking about.

I still dont know where Joel will end up but his high school and AAU career arent doing him any favors thus far. Hes being put in a position to create his own shot and we've all seen how bad some good players can look when they are forced to play to their weaknesses. Ive seen a number of his games now and they are really doing him a disservice by having him handle the ball so much as the primary option. Much like Poole, he is far better when he is a complimentary option on the floor. Players like this dont fare well at all when being the focus of the defense and even being doubled and triple teamed.

I think everything changed in the spring when he tried out for the Rocks and allegedly did not do well. All the sudden his ships dried up. I did see that the Radz kid from Troy is taking visits including Vermont, Mstist, and Tider. Radz is a D-2 kid...all the way. Any D-1 that gives him a scholarship is crazy.
