He was never the number one option. I really doubt we would have accepted a commitment from him. This is a clear example of what I was talking about. All offers are not real. Only the number 1 option can commit early. Coaches were watching all of the guys they offered and the most important one rises to the top

So let me see, when Siena offered Wincowski, he must have been a D1 player at that time or our coaches wouldn’t have made an offer. He was good enough for us then. But because he didn’t accept the offer, now he isn’t good enough for Siena, nor any D1 team. Boy some of you guys are tough on this local player. I only know what I read about Wincowski and Gottfried, but if I was selecting a player in a pick-up game today, I would take Wincowski hands down. I just hope Wincowski doesn’t go to UAlbany and he comes back to haunt us. I would LOVE it if he goes to UAlbany....

I just hope Wincowski doesn’t go to UAlbany and he comes back to haunt us. Not quite sure what you mean by this. I'll ask you if the folloiwng statements are true: 1. We did offer at one point. (when?) 2. He did not accept right away because he was looking at potential Ivy offers. 3. He decided he now wanted to accept the Siena offer but it is no longer on the table. (When?) 4. He has no other offers currently on the table, for whatever reason. If all these are true, then I don't think it means what you are suggesting. To me, it means we thought he was good enough to play for us, but once he hesitated we moved on and signed another kid that our coaching staff decided makes the offer to him irrelevant (found somebody they like better) and any additional offers should go to other positions or available skill sets. Doesn't think it means he's definitely not D1 to me, but it doesn't bode well either if he has no other offers as of now. He could always prove us or any other school wrong. But we decided to move on and not wait for him, which shows we didn't think he was all that worth it. We could have stayed on him regardless. I’m not the one that said an offer was extended to Wincowski, I’m responding to the initial post. Your statement: “to me, it means we thought he was good enough to play for us, but once he hesitated we moved on” To me, it appears you are saying we did extend an offer. Either way it doesn’t matter. He will not wear the green & gold. But without doubt, Wincowski is a better shooter than anyone on the Siena team.

I have no idea if we offered or not - that's why I asked those questions.

None of us have any clue if he would have been able to translate his game to D1.....

Siena doesn’t have a pure shooter on the team. Just my opinion.

Let's see how good his shot is when he's covered by a 6'3" D-1 "athlete," and not a kid from a school that has their prom at Pizza Hut.

Why is that piece making it sound like he's out of options? I thought I read somewhere that he had an offer from Albany too. He can just go there instead. Now, if they've pulled their offer too, then that would be unfortunate for the kid.

I think everything changed in the spring when he tried out for the Rocks and allegedly did not do well. All the sudden his ships dried up. I did see that the Radz kid from Troy is taking visits including Vermont, Mstist, and Tider.

A prom at Pizza Hut? Where do they do that.
BU offered but once Cam left for GW it was pulled. He probably belongs at UA or St.Rose, same difference.

He still can have a great HS season and sign to some D1 school. I know its hard to uproot a family but wonder if he thought about transferring to play somewhere else his senior year - Shen, Toga or even Glens Falls. I can understand if he didn't, they may be grounded enough to believe that things will work themselves out playing in Lake George. If so, good for them and best of luck to him.

Doesn't he play for the team his dad coaches in AAU? He should go to prep school if he wants to improve offers

Siena needs to builds a better relationship with the City Rocks. Talent right in the back yard.

City Rocks are a Nike team and Siena is a UA team, this we start way behind the 8 ball. Need a kid who grew up a fan of Siena and wants to stay home. Half the Rocks or more aren't even Albany area kids anymore
