"Sienna" ... This is what happens when you go off the radar for 3 years :-)

In the Hoopgroup elite Camp Isaiah Lamb made the all star game-- he didn't play he tweaked his ankle, also picked up a offer from S Alabama of Sunbelt conference. Think Manning was there watching him

Lamb made the senior game not the top 20 all star game. Greg was there watching but he did not play in the game due to an ankle sprain. MAS is in a tournament this weekend and I believe Greg is following.

Another Siena target Unique McLean ( 2016) did make the top 20 all star game. Although it looks like McLean will go high- Jimmy likes to recruit kids that play locally- his main targets are generally under the radar type kids

Those guys have or will get rank. Lavon did not make it either. He played in the Senior game as well. Patsos will take a shot at him though.

Haven't seen Patsos lock horns with an "up" recruit yet. A growing concern

Haven't seen Patsos lock horns with an "up" recruit yet. A growing concern Define "up". If you mean BCS caliber, why would such a recruit want to sign with a program that has for the most part sucked balls for the better part of the last 4 years? Consistent winning ways will have to be established again before anyone like that comes to Loudonville. Even Fran only really landed Ubiles and Basabe as true up recruits in his era. Right now, the best you can realistically expect is dudes with A-10 offers, and Patsos already has two of those in Long and Brandwijk. And I'm fine with that. A team with A-10 talent playing in the MAAC is going to win an awful lot.

The difference was Fran and staff were always in pursuit. When I see Siena listed now, for the most part it's as the best program pursuing the recruit... often by far

Siena was the best program pursuing the likes of Hasbrouck, Moore, and Franklin too. I kinda liked how that turned out. I wanna see them offer the best guys they reasonably have a chance of getting. Seeing Siena involved with a bunch of Big East guys doesn't do anything for me if they never come. There was a lot of competition for the likes of Long and Brandwijk. Each of them had over a dozen offers. Load up on guys like that who want to be at Siena and they'll be fine. If you want true up recruits, Siena would have to go the academically troubled juco/transfer route like Iona attempts to do. We are not getting them as academically qualified freshmen.

Also his adviser (Pete Sheehan a Siena grad) steered him towards Siena. By the time Fran had landed Anosike and Basabe Siena had won NCAA games - in Basabe's case we had beat Vanderbilt and Ohio State in back-to-back seasons. Kenny and Moore were true sleepers who became all-time greats. Jacksonville (Hasbrouck) and Vermont (Moore) I believe were their only two offers. Conversely a guy like Owen Wignot had offers from Penn State and Temple but was only a role player. Alex Franklin had about the same interest that Long and Brandwijk had. Rossiter's only "up" offer I believe was Providence and they wanted him to prep. Clarence Jackson had Richmond don't know if he had anymore A10 or higher offers. We need to build it back up. Thus far we are off to a good start with a 20 win campign and CBI championship. If we start and win MAAC titles and return to the NCAAs like we all hope Jimmy will reel in his share of "elite" recruits. But so far he's already brought in two players who were all-rookie their first team (Long and Wright - don't care if they were recruited originally to Loyola). Let's see what Brandwijk and Paige add this season. Hopefully we sign two studs this fall.

You make some valid points but all it takes is one to change the whole program. You can't get them if you don't try. Otherwise, maybe we should just make it official and add another "n" in Siena. I think eventually he will start recruiting these types of players.
