I watched the USA Germany game at an Albany sports bar that shall remain nameless, at least for now, to protect the guilty. I go back to the same bar on Sunday to spend on food and drink again but this time to watch a non USA game. My intent was to be able to watch the game on the biggest screen in the house which was lowered from the ceiling on Thursday. After getting numerous excuses, one of the owners came to my table and refused to lower the screen because there weren't enough people in the place at the time and furthermore circuitry has had to be replaced on the big screen. I told him I didn't buy the energy story nor the not enough people story. What an incredibly ignorant policy to have in a sports bar. As usual, it's all about the bucks. I was insulted and offended by being denied access to the larger view. I was supporting my ancestral team while also rooting the USA on. Went to a nearby Albany sports bar yesterday and had a better time. Maybe a frequent contributor on the main Siena Hoops board will eventually explain and/or defend the policy. This is something I will not easily forget.

Tim Howard deserves a statue built for him after that performance. Better yet, he needs a monumental wall built.
Belgium is a team comprised of World Class players, this is what they would refer to as their "golden generation". They were the better team yesterday, but man did the US fight in that game. Massively entertaining World Cup for the US.
