Nice to get that win with Bradley having the worst game I can ever remember him having and losing Altadore...

Thank God they recently discovered that they could play Jones and Beckerman together in midfield, they really needed their defense against Ghana. It wasn't pretty, but they got the result!

Two things..
1. Aron Johannsson played like shit! He must play better in the next game!
2. The U.S. got extremely lucky! Ghana had way too many shots on goal in the second half!

Many played below potential-- some of that has to do with Ghana's speed. I was glad they scored with enough time for US to turn its offense on. It is set up beautifully now-- Portugal is without Pepe and US should be able to control the ball now. The only thing I don't like is the US players said they are playing for a point. That is dangerous. However, if they do get a point and if Germany beats Ghana as expected Germany may not be too motivated for the US.

Oh well, USA up 2-1 and end up giving up a goal with less than min to play. Settle for a 2-2 tie

For those unfamiliar with soccer, an apt analogy for last night's ending vs. Portugal would be the way that this year's Siena v. Marist game at Marist ended.
A tie isn't a terrible result, because the US still earned a point and control their own destiny, but to be seconds away from victory and clinching advancement was truly gut-wrenching.
Still, if you asked any US fan before the World Cup if they'd be satisfied with 4 points after the first 2 games, 95%+ of them would have said YES. They're in a decent spot.
