I've always said it is better to be lucky than good! In their defense, the zebras were likely looking for illegal hand checking while keeping an eye (I assume each had at least one) on the charging circle (does anyone have any clue what that area is called?) while trying to count to 10 and then to 3 without calculators. It is amazing that this kind of stuff doesn't happen more often.

I checked the box score and 2 of the refs, Robert Riley and Bill McCarthy, ref MAAC games. I'm not sure of the 3rd ref. Name is Testa.

We die hard fans would have noticed and yelled it out so the coaching staff could protest it that same night .

Officially, "restricted area" or "restricted area arc." FIBA gives it the far too literal name "no-charge semicircle." Charge circle is a pretty common term though.
