Interestingly regarding Maac player of the year where some have worried about Baron. No doubt he is a good player, my own thoughts after watching many Canisius games he is good, very good not great. Beacon from Manhattan is his equal. Not Beltran equal just nt the way the teams are structured. Vanities h's even set up a web site to promote Baron.
Again it comes down to officials. Do they let the teams play the way C and M played on Sunday. If so Siena with multiple players should be able to get into Baron and frustrate him much as M did. Not sure PĂ©rez can get off big 2 games in a row. Other factor that may help Siena is that C is not playing in a high school gym and Siena will be fan heavy. Hopefully the team will survive this challenge.

MTS..i don't agree that the kids are going into the game with a nothing to lose attitude and content on the season so far since many see them as having overachieved this year. As D-1 athletes I would think these kids feel in their hearts they still have a lot to prove. the returning players finally have a taste of winning and the freshmen like Long, Wright and White did not lose many games at all in HS and I am sure they do not want the season to end Saturday. I don't believe pressure is always a bad thing as it can make a team play with a sense of urgency, which I expect the Saints to play with this weekend. While it may be a longshot if they can get to Monday night they are guaranteed a .500 record and possibly a chance to play in the CIT/CBI tournament which would be great for this team to experience. One game at a time this weekend and anything is possible I agree with all of that. Just saying that we can come out loose and not tight. Of course we want to win...we can use the role of underdog to our advantage.

Get the ball to Lavon, Robbie, and Brett at the high post every time against the 3-2 zone and Siena wins by double digits. Pass it around the perimeter against the 3-2 and we lose again.

More than any game this year, we need Lavon to stay out of foul trouble and attack their zone from the high post using all his skills.
We'll be less effective with Robbie & Brett doing it. Not bad, but far from our best.

@ hoopsfan- I could not agree more. My only worries about Saturday is the (stripes) bubble wrap around Baron. We aren't going to get a call, IMHO so we will somehow need to score more than Billy and Perez without fouling out four of our players who might look at him cross eyed whilst they dribble down the court (God, bite my tongue). Looking forward to a big loud crowd and the Siena Pep Band energizing the effort to slay the Griffin. What better way to say sayonara to Springfield than to put the league on notice that we're rising from the ashes!
Good thing you already have your excuse ready. I was getting worried for a moment. I thought we might go a game without the Siena fanbase blaming the refs.

Game will be won or lost at the 3pt line. You guys shoot 20% like you did at our place, you'll get beat. You shoot 57% like you did at your place, you'll win easily.

And your Griffs aren't exactly money away from the cozy confines of Koessler. First Manhattan, then Quinny on the road...keep being confident it can't happen to Canisius.

Siena is due for a good shooting night themselves. They've won 3 of the last 4 games shooting under 39% overall. saintsdogpound.com/siena-basketball/game_statsThe 3OT game with CC was the last game the Saints had a negative assist ratio. Here's what the head to head looks like so far this year (per game):
