Who's the better player, and who has the better chance of playing in the NBA? Canisius' Billy Baron or Ohio States Aaron Craft??

Baron is a better scorer, Kraft more of a pure PG. I think Baron has a better chance of being in the NBA. Kraft is solid surrounded by a lot of talent at Ohio State. Baron is doing it all by himself albeit at the mid-major level. Both are really good college basketball players though. Baron a much better offensive player, Kraft a much better defensive player.

It's an interesting question; I don't think Craft's star would shine as bright if he wasn't surrounded by talent on a BCS team. His game is reliant on defense and effort. I'd love to have him on my team, but he isn't a guy to create his own shot/make plays, per se, on the offensive end.
Baron is much more ready offensively for the pro level, but I could see Craft sticking in the league longer than Baron as a defensive specialist.

Baron is more prolific at scoring in a variety of ways...........but overall Craft can actually get his shot when he wants it is just not his role, but you do see him making big shots down the stretch of tight games against much better comp night in night out and he is super strong...............he would be a guy that can defend the best perimeter player on the other team, in fact I think he could handle Baron in that match up, definitely be an issue with Baron guarding Craft, he just isn't as good defensively, which is a reason it will be difficult for Baron to "stick" in the NBA, bigger/faster/stronger guys will be guarding Billy boy, it won't be easy......same goes for Craft, since he isn't really a volume scorer................enjoy watching both players, rooting for a MAAC player to get to the show of course, but gun to head if I had a choice between the two who I wanted as my PG, gonna take Craft since he can do things well on both ends of the court and I am not of the mindset that my lead guard has to score a lot..........he values the ball and gets everyone else involved, and is one tough sob to lead a team, imho!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed I need a pg to run my team that plays D... If Billy was NBA size for the 2 guard that he is his ability to score would help him. I dont know the other player but if he is a pass 1st pg that plays D I like him better

I asked the question because both are on the fence to make the league IMHO. Both good, but different. Small conference/big conference, score first/ distribute first, no defense/lots of defense. They both might make it, and they both might be in the D-league. Both would have to be drafted/signed by the right team, in order to stick.

It is obvious you don't like Baron. But to say you would pick a player that you don't know over him is kind of ridiculous. Plus I have to ask for a person who preaches "fact" on the college game you really never heard of craft?

I really dont like ball hogs so I would never pick Baron as my pg and he is too small and slow to play the 2 in the NBA. The other guy might not make it either

Baron does have NBA range on his shot. Remember Patsos saying recently that NBA people he knows said the MAAC might have a couple players that might get looked at as 2nd round picks. Baron and Armand are the only 2 I can think of this year that he was talking about

Baron and Armand are the only 2 I can think of this year that he was talking about I think Rhamel Brown from Manhattan has the bet chance of making a roster. He'd be back-up upfront because he's so good defensively. I could see him on a OKC team providing 10-12 minutes a night. He's only listed at 6'7" but has a much bigger mans wingspan. Lefty shotblockers also seem to have an advantage defensively. Baron and Armand are real longshots. Seems like Armand tailed off late this year, and Baron is a very poor mans Jimmer, but both will get legit looks.

Yep a big guy that can rebound and block shots has a better chance. If you want to get in as a scorer from the guard spot you had better be special. OD had some looks because he led the country in rebounding
