Point out where I said he was a PG. In my opinion he is better at offguard but can play point if needed. Not saying he can't become a PG, I just don't see that being his best position. hoopjunkie, you think your guy will lead you to titles, well I think my guy will as well. Is that fair? You're definitely entitled to your opinion! I'm just a believer in "pass first" PG's usually being the most important piece to championship teams. And not to be rude, but history of "winning titles" isn't exactly on your side. The history of winning titles means nothing when we are talking about freshman and two teams with new coaches. Honestly, what does Sienas dominance over Marist mean now to these players and these coaches? How does it affect any game outcomes?

Reputation, venue, fanbase, etc.....all add up to Siena usually getting to the top, and of course sinking to the middle when one of the BCS schools come calling for our successful coaches. We've done a poor job replacing those (Deane, Hewitt, McCaffrey) guys, and it's cost us any type of "dynasty." There's no debating there's only one school from the MAAC that has any type of national stigma. That stigma will get us back to the top, and things in the MAAC will be back to normal soon enough.

Stigma? I think you mean tradition or prominence - Siena is the only MAAC school that really has gotten national love. Iona and Manhattan would come next. I agree it is what will help get us back along with the TUC and the new practice facility. That's why we expect Jimmy to out recruit the MAAC. Fran wasn't an X's and O's genius - he simply got the best players. What has derailed Siena from being amongst the top mid-majors as you said is picking a successful coach to replace a successful coach who has moved on.

The "stigma" was basically meant thru the rest of the MAAC's eyes....i could have worded it better though! lol

I also dont agree with redshirt freshmen winning ROY but the rules are what they are. It is also a given that the top scorers get the nod with these type of awards. That's why Taylor from Rider has a legit shot as well.. along with Zach Lewis as those 3 guys are the leading scorers in the freshmen class....Marquis leading the league in the most important stats for his position should set him apart.... but everyone loves the scorer which is crazy because last year our high scorer (OD) didn't help our record. As for the redshirt thing, get over it; it's the way of the world and we are specifically talking about the rookies so the kid isn't 23-24. There were plenty of RS freshmen when our team had three kids who could have all made ROY their first year. This league likes parity so they spread it around to all the teams; not saying that is the way to go but that is what they do so they hardly are going to 'disqualify' a rookie because he is a redshirt. The coaches vote, and can't vote for their own kids. If you heard Jimmy's radio show yesterday, he clearly said the MAAC at this time has some really good coaches and I believe that's true at this point. I also think they will look at the 'body of work' of the player and judge accordingly.

Nothing to get over. The rules are what they are Personally I am more impressed with a true freshman coming in and adjusting to college life and playing well at the same time. A redshirt freshman is allowed to focus on adjusting to college life for a year then compete as a second year college student vs the first year players for a newcomer award. Hart is better prepared as a sophomore to earn mins and produce numbers than the true freshman
