Hart ROW once again. He is absolutely crushing the competition in this weekly award. If it wasn't for that big time 3 with about 20 seconds to go, Marist would not have been able to come back.

Hart will probably win ROY because he scores- of course everyone knows Wright is the better player-- this sort of reminds how some whacky Manahttan posters use to come to Siena board when Kenny Hasbrock was freshmen and puffing his chest out how Devon Austin was better than Kenny-- sorry didn't work out for him. Personally I dont think red shirt freshmen should be eligible-- but its not my call At any rate we really dont care about Hart winning ROW-- the Siena Marist game is long over- enjoy your fluke victory- last win you'll get in a long time

HMPHH, I put this in a different thread:).
Yes, Hart only scores. I know you wanted to use the argument that he gets tons of time because he is on a lesser team, which was the excuse when Gavin won it. But, yikes, that wouldn't help his closest competitor, now would it?

Hart is a nice player. Congrats on his success Yankee. We're okay with settling with Wright. He's the type of PG you win championships with. I wouldn't trade him for Hart even if you included a free dinner-for-two at the C.I.A

It didn't help 'Quis that we couldn't finish the game at McCann. That being said, they are both clearly the two rookie players that are at the head of this class.

I think it is obvious a Marist fan would say I would rather have Hart and a Siena fan would rather have Wright. They are completely different players. Wright is a pure point guard, Hart is a dynamic scorer who can play point if needed. I think we all can agree that both are the types of players each team has missed for awhile. Marist hasn't had a pure pg since Jordan and Siena hasn't had an explosive player from the guard position since the end of Frans tenure. However, one way to judge players is awards. And right now I would have to say Hart is the frontrunner by a good amount for ROY.

...especially since the league does not fill all MAAC teams by position.

Hart does have more tunrovers than assists, so lets not call him a PG. If we do, he's a very poor one. He's got the green light, and he's a good scorer though. He should help the Foxes to many wins over the years. We just think our guy will lead us to titles.

Point out where I said he was a PG. In my opinion he is better at offguard but can play point if needed. Not saying he can't become a PG, I just don't see that being his best position. hoopjunkie, you think your guy will lead you to titles, well I think my guy will as well. Is that fair?

yankee - the ellipsis was used as my brain was recalling a conversation that PPC participated in trying to figure out how the MAAC selects all league team members...

You're definitely entitled to your opinion! I'm just a believer in "pass first" PG's usually being the most important piece to championship teams. And not to be rude, but history of "winning titles" isn't exactly on your side.

I also dont agree with redshirt freshmen winning ROY but the rules are what they are. It is also a given that the top scorers get the nod with these type of awards. That's why Taylor from Rider has a legit shot as well.. along with Zach Lewis as those 3 guys are the leading scorers in the freshmen class....Marquis leading the league in the most important stats for his position should set him apart.... but everyone loves the scorer
