Former Siena Saint (at least for a couple of weeks) Melsahn Basabe's Iowa career is coming to an end. It seems he has had a solid career at Iowa with his best personal success coming his Freshman year. If Mitch had been able to keep him what do you think he would have done in the MAAC? Do you think with him, Trenity and rahk we would have seen better success and Mitch would still be here?

Interesting question, Basabe has been solid in the big 10 so you would have to think he would be solid+ in the MAAC, maybe ala Mike Haddix. Cheech and Chong... ehhh.. maybe we could "steal" a couple more games with them, but I see them as a net negative, not real Siena type guys (despite the "Minnesota Miracle" game for one of them).

He was never a Siena Saint, just a recruit of a coach who was moving on. Speaking of moving a thread about his career should bo moved to around the NCAA, IMHO.

Then we released him because "we are a Franciscan College.....". Granted he never suited up but he was a part of the Siena family for a very short while.

We would of been a contender this year if he was here- He definitely would of helped - He is a key contributor on a top 25 Big 10 team and had 3 other solid years for them - He would have been a top MAAC forward - Oh well
