They go 10-26 from 3 instead of 15-26 and it is a tie game. It is a very winnable game. They are are winnable... however beating Canisius is not likely.. quite frankly they are better than us. We have two wins over teams with winning records-- and many games we could say if this broke or that broke we could have beaten ( fill in the blanks Iona- Quinny etc) fact is bad teams dont win those type games. Can we beat Canisius, Manhattan or Quinny on road?? -- yes we can- they are not Duke,.. but if we do beat them it will be nothing more than an upset. Reality check we are a losing team with a record of 11-14-- those type teams seldom beat good teams.. this year always was a rebuilding year- next year Jimmy gets no pass-I'll be pleased if we can finish season 10-10 in conference and for that to happen we are going to have to pull an upset or two On the road, absolutely, but at home the Saints have a shot to win every time out. I am not saying they will ... they are probably more likely to go 1-5 then they are to go 3-3 but the only game left that would be a complete suprise if they won is Quinipiac on the road.

Let's wait until the beginning of March to start a new four game win streak. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Our games with Marist and Rider are crucial in that if Rider(a game up on Siena) should beat Manhattan tonight they'd have 2 wins against the top 4 and would hold the tie breaker if we lose to them. Marist a game behind us and a win against a top 4 team would hold a tie breaker should they tie us in the standings. Yes, we have 3 shots to beat a top 4 team but I would say our chances a very slim. Manhattan and Canisius both thumped us and Quinny has only lost to Canisius at home in league play.

www.nycbuckets.com/2014/02/race-5th-maac/Updated probabilities of the middle tier teams grabbing the 5th seed: •Rider: 62.7% •Marist: 34.6% •Siena: 2.3% Obviously it's now a pipe-dream for Siena to achieve this, they would certainly have to win out, and could likely be mathematically eliminated with a loss Friday. Still, a strong finish would go a long way towards them at least securing the 6 seed. The Rider game will most likely determine this. It's very feasible that Rider loses out for the rest of the season.

Mark Singelais: Game at Rider is key. If Siena won there they would hold tiebreaker w/Rider and in 3-way tie w/ Marist and Rider.

The toughest part is the one Siena can control - going 3-1 and one of the three being a win at Rider. It all starts tomorrow against the Jaspers. Sooner or later if you want to finish in the top 5 you need to be a top team. If we can upset Manhattan then I'll start to believe.

Regardless of the placing though I will be thrilled with 10-10 at this point.

If that scenario were to play out then we would have either beaten Manhattan or Quinnipiac so if one of them finished ahead of Canisius we would still beat Marist in a head-to-head tiebreaker. I agree with you I'd do handstands if we could finish 3-1 regardless of what position we would fall into. Nothing we can do about it now but this weekend really killed us. Two crushing defeats. Hopefully we can bounce back.

If we beat Rider and tie with them and Marist, Marist(on their win over Canisius) would get the 5th seed, Siena the 6th(presuming we don't beat Manhattan or Quinnipiac), and Rider 7th. Marist has Iona and Quinnipiac to play in two of their last three games. Rider has Iona twice, Siena and Canisius.

It all comes down to tonight. If Siena can beat the jaspers and Rider loses, then the Saints control their own destiny.
Looks likely that it will end up:
5: Rider 6: Marist 7: Siena
but stranger things have happened.
*edit, it doesn't "all" come down to tonight. Better put, tonights outcomes will either give the Saints a chance to finish top 5 or serve to end those hopes.

I can see Rider losing to Iona twice and to us while Marist loses 2 of their last 3... we can go 3-1 and finish 5th
