Saw this tweet from 4 guys in blazers and it pretty much sums it up
"15 games into this season 6-9, 4 straight W’s at home. 15 games into last season 2-13 lost 11 straight, 0-6 at home"
We are young and will struggle at times- but program has clearly turned the corner

No question..the first key to getting back to being a top mid-major program is protecting the home court and we've won 4 straight at home (longest streak since we won 6 straight at home in 2011-12). Young teams will struggle on the road but as we get experience eventually we'll find ways to finish the job on the road.
I am still holding out hope we can go 10-6 in the second half of the season and have a winning record overall. But as long as we continue to improve and show progress I will be encouraged on the foundation being laid for major success over the next several seasons.

After Monmouth, I didn't know how the team was going to respond. Well everything that you always say about young teams certainly has come to fruition. What a great win last night, it sure made my week. Most of us understand that this is going to take a little time but I am so thrilled at this point as to at where we are with our turnaround. There is nothing, outside of my family, that is more important to me than Siena basketball. I know from reading the thousands of posts that that is the case with many people on this site. It's hard for me to believe that Jimmy has taken this program this far in less than a year. (nine months?) I don't believe there are that many individuals out there that would have our program this far, this soon. We are very fortunate to have JP here. In two years from now, I think it is going to be unbelievable where we are at. Our young team is playing up against so many teams with senior leadership, years of D1 experience, it should be blowing people away that we (well, the coaches) are doing so well with such a young team. Think about Wright in two years, Lavon, Brett, Wolfe, White, Cole............... I just hope some of our posters can chill just a little bit in their criticism of these young men and appreciate the ride we are starting to experience. It's only beginning, this team is going to be something we are going to be very proud of. And it won't take three years. Go Saints!

I agree. JP has so much energy and it appears that he takes advantage of every opportunity to promote Siena Basketball. He was not my first choice and I think I can safely say, I don't think any of the other candidates could have done any better. For me though, it is going to come down to the next two recruiting years. If he does well and recruits on a high level then we know we are on our way. At that point Siena may actually be a position where dips in success are avoided after coaches leave. I like all others here want Siena to be a perenial power in the Maac or whereever they are - hopefully we are on our way.

Patsos has done a tremendous job. I watched the Saints in the first two games in the Old Spice Classic, and I was pleased for the first ten minutes we competed with Memphis (I understood the rest of that game- Memphis is very good this year), but the Saint Joes game left a bad taste in my mouth, because I felt we should have one that won that game.
Recently I have seen two games at the Times Union Center (Hofstra and Fordham), and I was very happy to see the victories. Fordham was outstanding, 52 points in the second half is very encouraging.
No doubt about it, Siena is headed in the right direction. As long as Patsos continues to recruit good kids, we should be set for a long time.

And he's currently 5-10 in year 4 of his Robert Morris tenure despite returning all but one player in the playing rotation from last season's 24 win team. He's also now running out of Mike Rice's players. Uh oh. I guess I'm glad the Siena administration didn't listen to me. Looks like Patsos was the right choice after all. I'll be happy if Siena finishes .500 this season - anything better than that is icing on the cake.
