Fran's roots are now firmly planted in corn country - first national level article that I have seen that had no mention of his prior gig at Siena (note two ex-Siena coaches in the picture). The author could have further strengthened his point by highlighting Fran's replacement at Siena and what the PW said at his annointing at Siena, what the PW did NOT do while HC at Siena, and concluding with how far Siena fell as they walked the ball up court for three years. The take-away - if you don't run with the big boys you finish the race with the crowds gone and an "also ran" next to your name!

You do understand by using PW you are insinuating your program is wrecked, right? Is that really fair to Patsos and the current team?

The program was wrecked coming into this year - it has been rejuvenated and we are on our way to a more typical Siena winning season in contention for the MAAC title and NCAA berth. The article on Fran was absent any Siena reference - a first to my knowledge - he's now 100% Iowa and the author would likely have no knowledge of where our program is now but would likely have knowledge of where we were at the end of last year - WRECKED. He made no linkage in his article. My post had nothing to do with Jimmy or this team. Nice try - now focus on Marist you'll sleep better - Marist will only have to face us a max of three times, be thankful for that.

People here don't follow college basketball and don't know what a "wrecked" program is. Scholarship limits, post-season bans, recruiting time restrictions, those are the things that wreck programs and Siena has never had to deal with them. The program is down, it has never been close to wrecked.

Siena has the resources and fan base to do the same... recovering from losing is not as bad as rebuilding a program with the issues you listed

I don’t disagree with you- but many levels of wrecking A program but in my mind in 3 short years Mitch took one of the top mid majors in country – 3 straight NCAA’s NCAA wins- number 1 bracket buster game nationally televised vs Butler , recruiting against VCU-ST Joe’s George Mason Richmond. We had a 38 game home court winning streak, had won something like 44 out of our last 47 conference games. We were closing in on MissPractice long stated goal of trashing the tarps- attendance and interest in area was at all-time high- I mean let’s face it the program was rolling
And while Jimmy will rebuild ( it’s not like doing it from scratch) any way you slice it Mitch set the Siena program back at least 5 years. Any doubt in anyone’s mind if Siena made a good hire that we would be in the A10 right now? Any doubt the tarps would be gone? Any way you slice it Mitch tenure at Siena was a unmitigated disaster, and for a few years wrecked the program

It definitely set Siena back, as did Rob Lanier. But a turn around is possible in 1, 2, 3 years(as PPC said, Towson had a 17 game turn in 1 year). At a 'wrecked" program, you have recruiting and scholly restriction, post-season bans, etc, you can't turn around in a year or 2. Fran had a winning record first year, Jimmy could, possibly (long shot now), too. Not a wrecked program.

Honestly, you seem to love to take the opposite view on just about anything. Is your first name Mary, as in "Mary, Mary quite contrary how does the next argument go?"

I'm not the original one who said that it shouldn't be called wrecked, but you want to address me and say I'm looking to argue? ? You want to call the program wrecked, feel free. But it's not.

OK - point out who, other than you, said it wasn't wrecked in those words! I already addressed Yankee's quip.

All I did was expound on his post. I guess others can disagree with you and it's okay, but if I do, I'm trying to "argue"? Okay, I got it now. Whatever Misspractice says, I agree totally.

Upstate, my take of your posts in the short time I've read them is that you appear to take opposing positions or contradict many more than others do. For example, in any one post category there are some differing opinions (as there should be); however, what I (and maybe others) have noticed is it appears you post opposites in a regular basis. Just my opinion/observation. So I'm not surprised by Misspractice's comment. If you go back and look at all your posts, you'll see that you disagree with others at an alarming % compared to others. Finally, it appears you take exception sometimes with one small sentence within a multi paragraph statement (as with mine in past) and maybe miss the overall intent of the post. It 's these observations IMO that others react the way they do specifically with your posts.
