Well looking at MAAC so far- Manhattan certainly looks like the class of conference. Iona is 1-2 but has played an tough schedule.Gaels play a decent Mason team at home today, if gals can win will show me something. Quinny has been impressive so far- they look to be 3 best teams in conference – after that it gets a bit murky
At other end of spectrum Marist has looked horrible- SPC not much better ( both winless) Rider is winless but only two game in. Niagara is 1-3 and I’m not big on comparative scores , but if you look at them, Bonnies bitch slapped Griffs by 22- we beat Bonnnies. Loyola went into overtime to beat Cornell then easily handled Fairfield. We beat Cornell in regulation – does that mean we are better than Canisius or FF—no but it might mean very little difference between teams, and if there is very little difference in November- I really like our chances of being better in March
After the top 3—I see no teams Siena cannot compete with on a given night ( and I’m not 100%sold on Iona- they have a history of choking)

I can see Siena finishing in the top 5 (11-9 might do it) this year in the MAAC (would get a 1st round "bye" to the Quarterfinals). I think that would be a huge accomplishment if we can do it with a team playing a ton of frosh.
The key will be going 8-2 or at worst 7-3 vs MAAC teams on our home court because the road games are going to be tough (maybe we can steal 2 or 3 of them).

Though not completely relevant, but a little bit so, ... in ECAC hockey, Clarkson was picked 12th out of 12 in both the media and coaches preseason polls. As I type this, 13 games in, with a lot of young players, they are currently 11th............. in the country, at 10-2-1. So much for polls and prognostications.

On the converse maybe there will be some games stolen from us at home. It does work that way too. Just enjoy the season and let the win total take care of itself.

I think that Rider will establish themselves as a Top 4 team behind Manhattan, Iona & Quinnipiac.
They also lost playing at Purdue by 4, and have only played three games so far, ALL on the road (they're 1-2). They play UAlbany tomorrow in their first home game, that could be a decent barometer for where they stand in comparison to other MAAC teams seeing that it will be the third MAAC team Suny Australia plays.
