A few MAAC scores from last night that caught my eye: Fairfield loses 63-49 to Holy Cross on their home court. Marcus Gilbert scored 26 of his team's 49 points, taking 14 3's (?). No other Stag managed more than 6 points.
Quinnipiac beats Hampton on their home court 71-68. Two Quinnipiac players with double-doubles and a third with 13 pts 8 boards - as advertised they WILL crash the boards hard. So far they're looking like a legit 3rd place team in the MAAC this year.
Manhattan beats Illinois St on the road 79-70. George Beamon is back - scored 24 points shooting 50% from the field, 0 TO's. Shane Richards proved he was human and only shot 1-5 from 3pt land. Rhamel Brown with a Double-Double and only three fouls - correct me if I'm wrong but may be one of the first games he hasn't fouled out this year? Ashton Pankey only getting 12 minutes of burn - I saw him in highlights the other night, he looks a little heavy.

Marist has looked horrible so far this year. Griffs look to be overrated, SPC and Rider are winless and as you mentioned Fairfield hasn't look particularly strong either. Monmouth looks as advertised and Niagara looks better than most thought

I think that's a fairly succinct recap. Rider is winless, but they've only played two games though? Everyone else in the MAAC is 3-4 games in except Rider and Niagara who have only played two so far.
I watched some of the Canisius v. Seton Hall game the other night - I don't know if Billy the Kid was trying to play hero because it was an "up" game, but he was dominating the ball forcing shots. If he chooses to be that type of player in the MAAC this year, he'll likely put up gaudy numbers, maybe win a MAAC POY, and Canisius will be worse for it.

Rider has only played 2 games and one was a close loss at Purdue so I wouldn't count them out. What is apparent is that Marist, Fairfield, Monmouth, and St Peters all stink. I think 3rd to 7th will be wide open between Quinnipiac, Siena, Niagara, Canisius, and Rider. Siena can beat all of those teams and lose to them all.
