Nope. They're human beings, so we don't want to be critical. They're great, and doing a wonderful job. So is every player.

Let's see... 1. Mitchs staff: They sat around, never talked, looked puzzled and used Jedi mind tricks to help the players during the game. 2. Jimmy's staff: The Asst. Coaches talk to one another, Jimmy and to the players during the game. And ..o'yeah...know what they are talking about!

After this win over the Bonnies, I think we can all see the fruits of hard work and should feel good about the job the staff is doing.

With an off-season and 3 games under their collective belts all anyone could really have at this point is a first impression IMO the question was just bait. This team is relying on a lot of young guys and has razor thin depth. So there will be a LOT of ups and downs. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone not happy with JP and his staff "thus far".... One thing is for certain - for the first time in 3 years I am really enjoying the season again!

Actually, I'm starting to see some player development, which has been a sore spot for me with Siena for many years, so I'm impressed. I know many of you think mid major players continue to improve throughout 4 years, but classically, that hasn't been the case here. Statistically (based on per minute averages), Ubiles and Hasbrouck peaked as Jrs and regressed as SR, Clarence Jackson, Rossiter, Franklin, Anosike, peaked as Sophs and stayed even or regressed later. Same for most players. I'm waiting to see if the strength and conditioning program steps up, too. The only players in recent memory who significantly improved those areas were Rossiter and Anosike.

Obvious bait, but at this time the only conclusion you can draw is that they understand and buy into Jimmy and his system and that, based on the freshman class they recruited along with Jimmy, they can flat out evaluate talent and sign it.

"Statistically", how far did Kenny Hasbrouck, Alex Franklin and Ryan Rossiter regress during their careers up to the point where they were named MAAC Players of the Year? OD Anosike was among the top players in the MAAC his senior year, and well as the leading rebounder in the country ("statistically", at least) as a junior and senior. How many of the guys you mentioned are playing, or have played, professional basketball? Their regressive statistics must not have meant that much to the teams that hired them, would you think? The only statistic that really counts is the number of wins the teams these guys played on compiled during their time at Siena. I don't think you get that many wins if the players are "regressing".

Simply looking at year to year stats for a given player in a vacuum is being shortsighted IMO. Year to year, as other players improve, the team becomes more efficient running their offense and as other players get added the game by game points get distributed in varying ways. Can't disagree that averages go up and down but the key stat, as S22 pointed out, is wins, especially quality wins. As to strength and conditioning - tall skinny freshmen are the most visible examples of mass and muscle addition over their careers. Today's players come in with much bigger pipes and more strength - Wolfe is a case in point - he does not look like a Rossiter did during Ryan's debut and Michael is only 17! Conditioning is also a strength (pun intended) of Jimmy's "system" - the wind sprints continue from the practice floor onto the arena floor as players check in and out!

Are you only using stats for your analysis/statement or are you also including games watched & other factors? Eddie, Kenny, Ryan were all injured their SR years. Eddie with back & foot issues that weren't addressed until he graduated before playing professional. Kenny sprained his ankle his Jr & Sr years before or during MAAC tourney. Ryan played an entire season with a broken nose (couldn't breath properly & had continuous sinus infections). Clarence was injured his entire Jr & Sr years. Never the same after his SO yr. If you only look at stats and didn't watch them play you missed how much better they got each year. Even Eddie, Kenny, Ryan, Clarence & Alex. Just because their stats went down doesn't mean they didn't prove each yr.

He won MAAC POY. statsheet.com/mcb/players/player/siena/alex-franklinUbiles had the best numbers his sophomore year but his junior and senior years were pretty similar. Kenny had better numbers his junior year but when he was a senior the Big 3 were juniors and took on even bigger roles plus Rossiter and Jackson.
