Hymes is this years Mitch on this board- lots of fans are hypercritical of him- while he may be short he is one the best offensive weapons on the team- he is lightning quick- has major ups and one of the best jump shots on the team- he has been one of the few bright spots from the last few years +100! It seems to be a basic feature of human behavior - we have to always have someone that we can publicly throw under the bus! Sad! We all seem to be embracing the new coach - let's let him decide how our assets are used and then we get the added benefit of seeing how the assets respond - if they don't respond in the desired way, we will see it without having to speculate up front.

I believe an issue stems from last years game against Loyola at the TUC. Evan fumbled a pass out of bounds in front of Loyola's bench. Jimmy clearly said something to Evan. I asked both of them what was said at the Pep rally when Jimmy was introduced and they both shrugged it off as nothing. I'm not trying to stir things up. Just telling what I saw on the game tape. Yet, you're stirring things up.

He could also be a big reason why mitch was mitched. I actually tire of the. .. Any player in Siena can do no wrong unless they commit a crime. I personally believe it isn't Hymes fault he signed far above his actual skill level. And I've described above when he's an effective weapon. That doesn't fit well in a TEAM. It is also painfully obvious that patsos is frustrated HAVING to play Hymes. That final 5 minutes of Lasalle says it all

Not looking to pick an argument but I am truly shocked that you would think Patsos HAS TO PLAY HYMES! He's the last personality on this planet that would do something because he has to and not because he wants to or feels it is the right thing AT THE TIME to do. Your disdain for Evan is well known but this is a stretch, IMO, even for you. He is the reason Mitch was mitched! Can't even put my conspiracy theory mind around that one.

He isn't the only reason but hitching your D1 Wagon to a D2 guard is a clear recipe for disaster. .. and to give him the green light. .. a death nail
I don't mind hymes the young man. His game is NOT D1 period. Long Poole Wright not to mention Ogunyemi need a reliable competent option at the 2. White may be that guy down the road but is a rookie and a bit erratic on O. Guards are key in this league and at this level. Running a 5'6" SG with the limitations he has is NOT going to result in success.

He should backup the point PERIOD. But then, I'm not the coach. I'll be shocked, given the Bonnie's height, to see him and Wright at 1 and 2 together. Hope I've set myself up and Evan drops 30 AND we get the W!

You can't have five six seven poor games and then go for 30 and expect high praise and then another five six seven poorly played. As a guard you need to have solid efforts just about every night and that isnt just the points column. Would you take a QB in football who averages like a td and 4 ints but goes for 5 tds twice a season? Those two games looked real impressive but the team is like 2-14

How are we blaming Hymes for the La Salle loss? Hymes wasn't playing in the critical end of the game when we lost it. I have to think our odds would have been better with him running the point after Wright fouled out.

How do you NOT blame him?

When Jimmy was hired Hymes announced he was transferring ... There must have been some conversations between the two of them for Hymes to remain

Never seen a Siena player who scored 748 points in his first two years in the program, and accept moving to a non starting roll with nothing but an apparent good attitude, and then get ranked on like Evan Hymes gets ripped like he does on this board.
Give the kid a break already. Ya; he has his weaknesses but they all do. He is a competitor and is needed on this team. He had a good game vs. LaSalle and I anticipate he will play well and free coming off the bench with alot of confidence playing at the TU Center tomorrow night. He is the one guy on this team; even more so than Poole, who knows when he is hot and is feeling it, that he can go from scoring 12 to scoring 28 in a matter of minutes and has no problem with doing just that; which means he keeps shooting. I think Poole gets nervous when he is scoring too much that he taking too many shots and that is not the case with Evan.

I don't give a s##t how many he's scored. His teams are losers. Go watch the Lasalle highlights number 5 getting beat an awful lot in the video for a kid who had a "good game". Problem is. ..some of you see one side of the ball and fail to see his weakness on the other side is causing a TON of the defensive problems and foul problems for this team.
That is my last on the subject. I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you
