@marksingelais "St. Bonaventure coach Mark Schmidt on Siena's loss at La Salle: "Really impressive. They should have won."

Tall is great...so they say. Be small get your big defender off balance...your golden. They can't swoop so low, run so fast, or anticipate your every move you have in your head. Lead. Don't follow. Not a handicap if viewed as a small guy.

Bonnies favored by 5 1/2. Not bad. With that said taking the Bonnies in this one. That huge lineup could cause problems. Hope I'm wrong. 3 this morning in the Gazette with no coverge on the game

starters are 6'3", 6'3", 6'4", 6'8" and 7'. top minutes off bench are 6'4", 6'7", 6'7" and 6'8". BIG TEAM! They do have a freshman guard that's 5'8". I meant to say nobody under 6'3" plays. They have 5'8" freshman, hasn't played, 5'11" junior, hasn't played, and 6'0" senior, 2 minutes total in their 3 games. Everyone who plays is 6'3" or bigger. Greetings, Siena fans, Looking forward to a good game tonight. The three players 6'0" and under mentioned by upstate73 are the Bonnies' walk-ons. It's a small sample, but after the first three games, this year's Bonnies are almost the complete opposite of last year's edition. Last year they were pretty good offensively (Pomeroy 58th) but poor defensively (246th). This year's squad may struggle to score at times, but so far they get after it on defense. They've been using their athleticism, size and length well, holding opponents to 52 points/game and out rebounding them by 15/game. We lost our top 3 scorers to graduation, so the team is likely still trying to find it's offensive identity, but scoring has been balanced so far, with 5 players scoring at 9.7 pts/game or more. This will be our first road game, so I'm anxious to see how the team responds. Other than tonight, Go Saints!

Bonnies haven't played anyone good yet so hard to tell about their rebounding and defense. Canisius is by far the best team they've faced and they are struggling mightily of their own accord.

I agree in regards to the level of competition we've faced so far. That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to tonight's test. We're tough and scrappy but we need to make shots. Hopefully, our shooters are the ones that actually shoot like vs. LaSalle. For Siena fans, I'm not sure if you picked up on it or not: Oliver, Hymes, and Poole were the only 3 guys who attempted threes vs. LaSalle. We shot 7 of 12. Coincidence?

Jeez, I just read the Bonnies board link. Saintsfan really? You have to spread your anti-Hymes propaganda everywhere you go?

The moderator of this message board needs to learn some Franciscan values.

Thanks - I think. Shows the true colors of one of our most critical "fans"! Fans like SF are a good reason to keep fans out of practices - he'd probably feed opponents our scouting report! Shocked but not surprised.

Mark Singelais "The Bonnies were picked to finish 12th of 13 teams in the A-10 preseason poll after losing their top three scorers from a team that went 14-15 last season."

I like wins... he likes Hymes... different strokes for different folks. I dont hate you guys for it.
