My guess is Siena is gonna struggle some in the first half and may end it down due to UA's experience. But then, in the 2nd half, Jimmy's conditioning regimine turns the tide. Hopefully, it will be enough to win. I've seen Browns practice...he runs the hell out of the conditioning drills 'till borderline exhaustion. Not sure how many of you have seen his practices...the condition is the least of my concerns for tonight. clack, and you should know this..............conditioning is essential and a part of every teams regime, there likley isn't any team in the country that doesn't attend to that in practices...............but we are talking about is the style of play, and Brown does not practice contstant up-tempo basketball either on the offense nor on the definsive side either..............doesn't mean that because Siena does this that they will be successful nor that UA cannot handle it, but just running to run to have stamina is not the same in the setting of game situation, where someone is guarding you non-stop, ball handling is required and players are constantly getting physical................gonna be interesting to see it unfold, would probably be a better if each team had a few real games under their belt rather than this being the first for each!!!!!!!!!!

Albany didn't force a lot of TOs or block a lot of shots last year and now Black and Iati are gone. They only stole the ball 5x a game and blocked 2 shots per game last year. That's worse than Mitch ball.
We need to pressure DJ Evans. My guess is turnovers aren't an issue for us in this game but could be for them...if we get to him. They could also have issues putting the ball thru the hoop.
We lose this game if the frosh are nervous and we put them on the line too much while not turn them over. They don't miss FTs. I think Siena should win this one because they just don't have the scoring leadership they had last year.
And we pretty much know that Hymes and Poole, at least, are probably gonna be in double figures. No one on Albany has ever averaged double figures in D1.

While I agree with this prognostication, it's worth noting that Hooley and Rowley put up respectable numbers in more limited minutes than Hymes and Poole last year. I have to think those guys log much heavier minutes for SUNY Australia this year, and I wonder if they have the motor to do so.

Conditioning drills are great-- but when you are guarding an opponent that is faster than you --UA's big men are nowhere near as fast nor as athletic as JO and Lavon..it wears on you the longer the game goes on. Brown will try and get JO and Lavon into foul trouble or get them to lose their cool.. While Bisping and Silas can give us some minutes both players a big step down offensively from JO and Lavon.

They are guard poor especially after Jiggetts left, only 5 "G"s on the roster. They may be playing face up 4's at the SF. We should have more versatile scoring on the court than they will. We need the froncourt to play tough and hopefully their lack of guard depth comes back to haunt them at the end of the game.

I'm pretty sure this will be Brown's primary strategy based on what the current scouting report of the team is. Also, chasing Wright and Hymes around for an entire game isn't going to be easy for them. Albany doesn't foul. They play like we used to...ole defense. Jimmy does foul. That's what we have to watch.

UA didn't use to foul-- but they are always physical.. putting their hands on you..it will be interesting to see how new rule affects UA defense. I would imagine UA is going to have to play some sort of zone..noway that can stay man to man with Siena--Saints much more athletic in starting lineup than UA

I'm sure you remember me compiling all your quotes leading up to the game, it was embarrassing for you. Maybe you'll be right this time...every year is the same crap, Siena is so much more athletic and every year the game is a single digit game. True but last year it wasn't perimeter athleticism, it was inside. Brookins didn't play. Only Hymes and he was made to walk it up the court. Now we still have athletes inside but both Wright and Hymes will be running. We'll see how it works out. My #1 fear is if UA is hot from three. Hooley, Haas, and Odunsi can all shoot supposedly.

You do remember all the talk how we wouldn't be able to contain the two Africans and Brookins? Correct? Guys...according to Patsos you are a low-mid-major...you aren't the '80's Lakers...just stop! And UA isn't NJCU....Are you more athletic...maybe...but come on...

Good luck tonight to the kids on both sides tonight, I expect it to be entertaining.

Nice...I'm having a great time with this...it's only really the only time we can dig into each other. Hope everyone has a good time tonight...while I'm confident in what will happen tonight, these games are always close so there is probably a good chance I may need to come in here tonight and take my beating. Hopefully not! Cheers!

Gomis left the team before the game last year. Silas is a shotblocker not a scorer and Brookins didn't even play in the game last year. So you're on drugs. And you and I both know I never talked up Gomis more than having "Brandon Walters" upside. Yay, future 6 & 6 player. Woo, woo. Before last season, on paper, Brookins was good. He self destructed. These teams will be playing totally different styles this year. Last year they played the same style.

I remember when you told me that no way could we handle your two Africans...well I think we can all have a healthy laugh at that one now. Why dont you post the quotes I've said very little the last few years about the game- because in case you haven't paid attention I had zero confidence in the PW-- so while you might have some quotes from others I highly doubt I EVER shot my mouth off about a Mitch B coached team other than to complain... if anyone was wrong its been you-- you have posted more shit about this game and lets face it more often than not your wrong.. but then again that's your plight in life and I should add I've said very little this year, other than prolly going to be close.. and I know it pisses UA fan off when I say they better get us this year because this will be your last chance.. but its the truth and in the end that's what burns your ass
