These new rules suit Hymes game perfectly...Quick and a 3pt threat.

In a year like this with the way Jimmy's teams historically get to the line, it could pay big dividends to have a top 6 rotation that should shoot 72+% from the FT line. Marisa Jacques says barring injury Bisping is the 5 on opening day. That hurts the interior D big time but helps us out a lot on drawing fouls, making FTs, forcing turnovers, and taking care of the ball. A trade off that this year might actually help us. Wright (72% in Montreal, 65% 4 years in HS but 81% last year) Oliver (around 72% in HS) Poole (72.5% career) Long (60%ish both HS and in Montreal) Bisping (83% last year, 95% in Montreal) Hymes (77% career) JO (67% in HS) Audu (93% last year) Cole (68.8% last year) White ( ) Silas (46% last year but shot is not as bad as OD)

The fact is, the way Patsos keeps changing his mind I won't be confident there's a final starting five until November 8th. That said, this does figure to be a good free throw shooting team with Silas being the weakest link. Long shot below 60% in H.S., so I'm not sure you can skew that entire average upwards based on the few he took in Montreal. I'm hoping he's been working on it to get to at least 70% in college. If this is how it's gonna be, then frontcourt depth is more important that ever and it should take the possibility of redshirting Wolfe off he table. The big problem with all these extra fouls we can expect to be called is that while scoring will go up, the flow of the game will go down with all the stoppages of play. You can also kiss 2 hour game lengths goodbye. I'm sure the networks trying to schedule these games so they don't overlap are gonna love that.

Wolfe is the 4th big off the bench right now....these rules won't get him on the court enough to waste a year IMOP

I said 60ish. Big deal. PPC has had him shooting 100 FTs a day all summer often making a much higher percentage. I figure that "60ish%" is pretty safe man. Kind of splitting hairs over 2%.

I mentioned this in some other thread, but I expect at least the first half of the Albany Cup to be a sloppy one this year. New stricter defensive rules, young/inexperienced backcourts, and many players in their 1st D1 game, in front of 10K fans no less.
Doesn't mean it won't be entertaining, but I think both teams will have to endure a learning curve.

How does Marisa Jacques (whoever that is) know who the starting 5 is going to be when just a few days ago Jimmy said he hadn't decided yet? . I didn't even pick up that he didn't know who she was. Unlike popular opinion, I DO watch every Siena game. Sienafan, she's the one who is next to Huerter and Lee. I tend to notice the lady interviewing the head coach on TV/internet at half time of every Siena home game. And you were stepping up your game too....one step forward two steps back.

In the paper version of the newsPAPER, there's a photo identifying the players as Ryan O, but it looks more like Imoh (at least through my corrective lenses). Don 'to know how they missed that one.

There is nothing wrong with your corrective lenses. That is indeed Imoh (#34) and not Ryan (#3). Looks like our beat reporter may have either delegated "find a picture of Oliver, he wears #3" to a staff person since Mark quoted Ryan in the article or Mark himself got the wrong photo. Hope our kids do their homework better than our beat reporter, LOL. Actually, a picture of Imoh would have been a better fit, absent the quote, for the article given that it was about a concern over an anticipated increase in foul calls this coming season.

Being after him in the depth chart means Wolfe will be subbing for him within 5 minutes after Silas went in and picked up 3 quick fouls. I don't live locally, so there's no watching on TV for me. I catch them in person down by me when they play at SPU and Manhattan. I also try to make a game or to at TUC when I'm in the Captial District for business. I will be at the Albany game sitting courtside.

KK Sounds like we are in the same vicinity. but I rarely miss a home game on the laptop. For what they charge it is a great bargain, check it out (I think it was ($69.99) for the season last year.
