I don't wanna take Mitchs spot..... 53 wins against NEC competition. One of the weakest OOC schedules in the country and some of the weakest over all schedules in the country. Either youre playing your usual devil's advocate to stir things up or ... blind. This team doesnt have one single signature win out of conference unless you count Vermont or Hofstra. Any team worth mentioning that they even played... which isnt many... flat out drilled them.

I hope people aren't upset we lost a kid to an NEC team. If he's going to the NEC that means there's probably a thousand other guards as good as him. That "NEC team" won 72 games, and went to the NCAA's the last 3 years. Now what? That was with Ferry's players. He's entering his 2nd year at Duquesne. They didn't have much success before that and we'll have to see how much they have as his players leave.

I guess I'm mistaken ( might be the second time). I only saw J. Hood play once against Troy H. S.(?) but I thought he had "big time" talent.

Our next chance is 2015 when the seniors graduate...no one is being forced out to bring in a 2014 just as a couple of us said hopefully this doesnt wind up as it did for Fran.. with the exception of the winning if Wright White Cole Long Ogunyemi and Wolfe work out or at least eat up 4 or 5 of the starting spots its going to be really tough for Patsos to recruit for 3 years. Fran ran into the same problem. Although he did have Basabe and Allen coming that following season to go along with Poole Burdine and one more year of Rossiter/Jackson. Patsos could find himself in a tougher position although out of necessity with the shambles Mitch left things. I guess we should know more about who will work out and who may take time to develop etc in the not so distant future. My one concern at least for two years is indeed recruiting. With Jimmy I'm not convinced that "who starts" will really matter. I think Jimmy will commit to playing 9-10 with the potential of subs receiving more minutes than 2 or 3 starters. Assuming that holds true, I'm not convinced the log jam for the above referenced starters should really factor in for in coming recruits (unless they're a "me first" player & then I wouldn't 't want that type of players anyway). B 4 you knock Hood and LIU too much we're not exactly the cream of the crop when compared to other mid major programs right now ( of course it goes w/out saying no thanks to the direction the program was taken by management over the past few years). In fact, I think most would consider us to be a low mid major program at this point. That is until we prove differently! We have a bunch of unproven young players that may or may not pan out. We can speculate all we want about how good these kids look but until the season is underway it's all talk. Now lets hope JP can right the ship and restore some dignity to this once proud program. Because as it stands we don't have the right to put anyone else down. We haven't earned it......

I believe Isaiah Stewart and Scott Knapp were both recruited by Beyer and chose to stay after the coaching change. Pretty smart move on their part, I'd say.

Hewitt won with his kids, and that kind of stuff happens all the time. As bad as Beyer was, he did bring in a pretty special group of kids.

As did Lanier. Very good recognizing talent and getting them here but couldn't coach a lick as proven by the team disregarding him to win 4 straight at the Pepsi to eventually lose to National Champion Maryland, with Jimmy as an assistant there.

There's no shame in losing Hood to an NEC team. I'm fairly confident that any NEC program (or any other league's programs for that matter) would easily beat out Siena for 2014 recruits - for the simple reason that Siena has NO scholarships until 2015! I'm not even sure why Patsos is bothering to offer 2014 kids. It's pretty easy for opposing coaches to point out the scholarship situation at Siena.

We lost Hood to the BEST NEC team, so yes, it's no shame. As for recruiting in '14, we need to keep doing it. There will be at least 2 openings in May, count on it. The rebuilding has begun, and will continue with evaluations this season on who can, and can't, help us get to our goals.

Don't see any current juniors leaving (I doubt Hopper leaves with one year to go). And I don't anticipate any of the current freshmen going anyplace. If anyone goes it will be either Oliver, Audu or Bisping - especially Oliver/Audu especially with Cole coming into the mix for the 2014-2015 at the latest. If Cole gets his waiver...don't see much playing time for Oliver or Audu at all.
