I think it makes sense for them to that. As a low major conference, they are never going to get national exposure for any game other than the championship game. This way, you maximize revenue from ticket sales, and increase the chance of the #1 seed advancing for a shot at a first and/or second round NCAA win. Although the MAAC is not big enough to support a neutral site, a hosted option increases television and internet choices for its entire tournament (although we all know what the best hosted "option" is). This format does run the risk of a lower seed team making it to the dance, but one difference is at times the #1 regular season champ can get an at large bid out of the maac.
