did I mention how the Ryan Oliver threads hold a record? Not sure if I mentioned that or not.

Umm, the small thread was 43 pages. The big thread was 62. 105 total in just the 2 with his name in the title. Still a record thank you very much. Yeah, uh Mmmmkay...so my point was where was oneindian's complaints about those Ryan Oliver threads? I'm curious why all that discussion about that one player didn't bother him to the extent that he would feel compelled to speak up as he did here. Whining is a little more tolerable if it's at least consistent and evenly applied. But hypocrisy is never tolerable. MMMMMok .... Because his Mommy wasn't the one posting about him in every thread!! That's why! Not even close to the same but nice try! Oh and not to mention you're missing my entire point. A players mother posting non stop is ridiculous! Find one other example of a players parent endlessly promoting his or her son or daughter in a public online forum. It's unheard of, unnecessary and creates potential issues with team members. Let the kid stand on his own merit.

Well, this is awkward.
I first want to say that I really like the fact hat PPC is on here with the rest of us, mixing it up and sharing insight on her son and the team. I welcome her contributions to the board.
There is a vast difference between a fan's perspective and a player's parent's perspective. PPC's first concern and priority is for the success of her son, and that is exactly as it should be. The rest of us do not share this perspective.
So we end up with some differences of opinion that will likely not be reconciled unless and until our front line is solid enough to allow Lavon to spend the bulk of his time at the three. That may happen soon, or it may not happen at all. Time will tell.
In the meantime, I'll keep reading and lurking as usual, dodge the bullets on here, and remain excited to see Lavon wreak havoc on the competition from whatever spot he may occupy on the court.

Honestly, I like most of her posts and appreciate her passion for her son and Siena basketball. If you are uncomfortable with it, then you should just ignore her posts.

KK you will see like everyone else that Lavon helps the team more doing all that he does rather than stuck as a undersized 4....he can spell any position on the floor and will play the 4 ...he mins there will be dictated by how well the 4s and 5s do....I am cheering for Silas, JO, Bisping, Wolfe, and Hopper to take care of the middle so Lavon wont have to....then in spots when the team goes small Lavon will play the 4 just like Patsos said....the 3 should be his primary position then move around where needed... A few things --- 1st of all its fine PPC posts here, she always posts respectful- please afford her the same courtesy Secondly – as for the 3 being Lavons’ primary position- a few problems- 1st thing is Rob Poole plays there and right now he is better. Another thing while I agree Lavon has the offensive skill to play the 3- I’m not convinced he can defend the 3 – and lastly he is a freshmen 2 years ago no way Rob Poole would have been able to handle the point- even though he came in with guard skills. Long term as Lavon develops as a player he will have opportunity to prove he can play the 3( if he can indeed play the 3) in the meantime I feel pretty strongly he will get a lot of min at both the 3 and the 4- the kid can obviously play as he develops his natural position will show itself. If you can play good coaches will find time for you , if Jimmy thinks he is a 3 and he can play there that's where he will end up even if it takes a year to two. For now he is a freshmen lets not put too much pressure on the kid, let him develop- I have a feeling he is going to be a "good one"

He is what almost 6'7" 230lbs-- probably as big or bigger than most MAAC power forwards..is he undersized for NBA yes-- is that your point? lets face it if Lavon was 6'9" he would be in Big East, Big Ten, ACC etc

Quick trivia question - what was the last post on this thread that made any mention of the game against Brookwood?

2 weeks into the pre-season its Lavon all day? Seriously? Is this a preview for the entire Saints season? Is everyone cool with this direction? I don't think it's all about Lavon. People asks questions, makes statements and PPC responds. If you have a player or subject you want to discuss, start a new thread. If you don't want to read about a particular player, don't. It sounds pretty simple.

Guys - Please chill... Don't look a gift horse in the mouth but know that you are going to get some extra about her son. Who wouldn't. For goodness sakes look at my avatar. When your child does something special it tends to get parents pretty fired up and much more likely to advocate regularly for them. The good news is the season isn't too far off and, one way or the other, the proof will be in the pudding...

Lavon is a great kid and team player, who always does the dirty work to help his team win, while never seeking recognition. His strength is around the bucket not as a perimeter player. He has scored the majority of his points within 10 feet of the basket. While he has worked on his skills away from the bucket, he has never proved them against good high school or AAU competition. In his defense, he has not been given the opportunity. He will get better with time and practice playing away from the bucket, but I don't think Patsos is willing to allow on the job training at this time. Let him get comfortable at the college level with what he knows, and then gradually expand his game. Both Lavon and White will be impact players for Siena.

This thread has become a nuisance and probably belongs more in the smack talk section than anything else. You guys realize that we played tonight, right? And Marquis Wright was one assist away from a triple double? There other things we can discuss rather than attacking fellow posters ... just my two cents
