@ryanarestivo: On @shadesof48 story @ae_Commish "Nothing in there was really a surprise to us, but we have our 9 schools right now" t.co/65ocDXk7RjSo who is going to use FOIL to get this same correspondence for the MAAC and A10?

Siena is not a public institution so FOIA probably doesn't apply - too bad

NJIT is a Division I independent... for whenever the America East gets desperate enough.

If the A10 does not materialize for Siena, then would it be an upgrade for Siena to move from the MAAC to the CAA?
[Note the CAA will include: Drexel, College of Charleston, Delaware, Hofstra, James Madison, Northeastern, Towson, UNC Wilmington, William & Mary, and Elon.]
Your thoughts?

No, it would not be an upgrade. Not including Siena, the MAAC current members have 38 bids to the NCAA tournament, and 3 sweet sixteen appearances-- none since 1970. The CAA has 34 and no NCAA Sweet 16. It would be a wash at best, Siena would have to travel more, and compete with football schools. It would be nice to see different teams-- but I don't think it would move the program forward.

Only if two MAAC schools joined them, a few southern schools left, and they wound up in a CAA North with Drexel, Hofstra, Northeastern, Fairfield, and Iona/Manhattan. Otherwise I prefer the MAAC.
