Siena is usually in the 60's. I would expect somewhere between 55th and 65th.

Attendance is a trailing indicator. People are buying this year's tickets based on their feelings from last year. Fran's first year had lower attendance than Lanier's last year. I would expect similar again. But two years from now, we should be rollin'.

I would expect similar again. But two years from now, we should be rollin'. I think this might reverse that trend. Jimmy Patsos is more known to the fan base than Fran was, there is a local flavor to the team (Ogunyemi , Lucious Jordan, and now Jimmy Merrill), and a decent schedule. I'd be shocked if attendance didn't top 7,000 average.

The fan base may also have more access to this information with the increased popularity of social media, blogs, message boards, etc. We'll see.

Sports fans that casually follow Siena busted my ass for the last 2-3 years, (you too right?) Now they have all expressed interest in what is going on and have an extremely positive image of JP. He has really done an unbelieveable job!!

The key is to -- wait for it-- win games. We start with UAlbany...probably at least 10K for that game (it's the season opener and on a Friday night). If we can win that one and are a fun team to watch (which I FULLY expect!) the attendance will be pretty good (average over 6000 at least). It won't be in the hey days of 2007-2010 seasons (that will take some time) but the TUC crowds and atmosphere will be so much better.
We are going in the right direction no doubt about it...so much more positive vibes out of the program thanks to Jimmy. The league better gets us this year because we graduate nobody and with the freshmen taking the big sophomore jump and with the tournament at the TUC in 2014-15 we'll really be in a nice spot.

You doin' season tickets this year? I am thinking about it. I had them from 2006 to 2010 and did not have them the last two years. I'm not a frontrunner but admit the team and mainly the coach did not inspire me to get them. But money is a major concern too for me. What I'll probably do is cherry pick and go to 7-9 games (watch the remaining ones on Time Warner) and use my student ID to get the $8 tickets. You can't buy season tickets with a student ID I don't think.

Does anyone know how many fans went to Montreal? The package looked reasonable on the website

I noticed that Virginia had 24 home games and UNLV 22. That's how you build a winning record and huge fan attendance.

Scheduled or not they were still on their home court. Yes, but they weren't about "building a winning record and fan base" If the schools had no idea they would be played. They were about luck. Next year, Siena will have that luck on their side when the MAAC tourney returns.
