Funny to me how many people, still after all these years, want to put everything in a box.
Certainly height to weight ratio is a factor but far from the most important. His getting pushed around means that at least for his freshmen year he won't be able to hold the stronger guys off the block, back nearly anyone down or box out very well. So clearly he needs to work on his legs and core.
There are many other aspects of the game that enable Jimmy and Co. to devise a plan that will mask the players weaknesses and put the team in a position for success.

Patsos said that Wolfe will play a lot at PF this year, but some here still think he has to redshirt. I'll go with the coach on this one, lol.

Jimmy just said in an interview that he may redshirt Wolfe. Seems kinda 50/50 right now...

Patsos said that Wolfe will play a lot at PF this year, but some here still think he has to redshirt. I'll go with the coach on this one, lol. Actually, his exact words were: “He’s going to play a lot of four (power forward) for us because he can face up and shoot,”. He said he was going to play a lot of four, but he didn't say it was going to happen this season. Patsos has indeed siad subsequently to that statement that Wolfe may reshirt. He said it here: dalydoseofhoops.blogspot.com/2013/07/breaking-down-sienas-nonconference.html (scroll down to the paragraph entitled "On this year's team and the blend of youth and experience:"). That said, Patsos seems to change his mind afer he makes announcements, so who knows what will happen with Wolfe? He originally said JO would start at the 4. He's now saying Bisping will start there.

Jimmy changes his mind every 3 minutes on EVERYTHING. You need to learn to take his meanderings with a Morton box of salt.

Jimmy changes his mind every 3 minutes on EVERYTHING. You need to learn to take his meanderings with a Morton box of salt. Jimmy's only been the Siena head coach for about three months, and has almost four months before his first game as head coach. Obviously, any comment he makes about playing time this early in the team's progression should be taken with a grain of salt. His every comment is simply being analyzed because it's a slow news period. The next few months will say much more than the last few. Looking forward to seeing this team shape up. Hopefully those of us who aren't able to attend any of the Montreal festivities will get some updates on the boys.

Oh. Right. Four months until P-Day. Just remember what I tried to tell you. Good luck.

Perhaps...but I prefer to think of myself as the Wizard of Not-Oz with a great deal of firsthand experience. Do you have firsthand experience on this subject? Oh. I think not.

Yeah you’re the wizard of Oz- if you were not so bitter, you would see Jimmy won as many games as anyone in the MAAC the last 3 years despite coaching at a school with almost no basketball history, little media interest, small fan support and substandard facilities. But I’m quite sure you know that—that’s why you still show up here.. get better not bitter

What does bitter have to do with stating simple facts? I am not bitter at all. I like Jimmy. A lot. The fact is still true that he changes his mind constantly, and please if someone can refute that, please come forward. Moreover, i said I was the Wizard of NOT-Oz....implying that I am not an imposter, nor a troll. However, you may infer what you wish.

You stated a conclusion that JP changes his mind every three minutes - but you provided no facts to support that conclusion. Seems to me that once he selected a lineup on his Loyola teams he stuck with it. Here, he is new to the program and discovering players he is not familiar with without the benefit of full-length practices. I don't think it unusual that a newly hired coach juggles the lineup until the best fit is found.

I think he has said that somebody is a starter at a particular position one day and a week or 2 later say that somebody else will most likely start at the same spot. Now he may have a particular reason for that - motivation maybe or just to keep everybody on their toes. At this point in time, I would think some of that would be better left unsaid. But again that's just me and maybe he has a good reason to state it.

Another way of looking at it would be him offering the opportunity and allowing guys to earn spots..Patsos told Lavon he would start after watching a HS game....Lavon understands he is expected to put the work in and if he does he will start or play major minutes....if not he will sit...Patsos does jump out there and make statements about players before he got them in the gym...the lineup and rotation will change till Patsos finds what he thinks works best...no one can sit back and feel like they have it made....spots will be earned

Okay. It's a bit like trying to explain what a pickle tastes like to someone who has never had one. Experience is the ultimate knowledge. I truly wish Siena all the best success.
