In addition to Ojo and Smith, Mosi Clayton attended. Also saw Andy Farrell and Jonathan Pickett. Would like to see him keep Farrell. As the ship was sinking, he was the only assistant on the bench with any energy.

Coyle might have been sitting 2 seats over from Farrell.

Coyle might have been sitting 2 seats over from Farrell. Glad they were there. Don’t forget, some kids actually have classes and may have had a conflict.

Did anyone that was there see any of the current roster that we still have in attendance? Ojo, Smith, Coyle or ME? Ojo,Smith and the walk on guard from Brooklyn who I only saw get on the floor once during the season.

GMac says he wants to win. It's a great day to be a Saint!! Not to be a downer but don't all coaches want to win? Can you point me to an intro presser where the coach said he's shooting for .500? Wanting to win isn't ever the problem. Recruiting, prepping, scouting, and in-game coaching is the issue. GMac seems to have what it takes, on paper anyway. Remember that Carm looked good year 1 and even year 2. I've renewed my season tickets but I'm not declaring him a hall of famer just yet.

Big difference Coach Carm took over for Turkey Board coach who bolted after one year and took a team who had a winning record and a ton of talent. I believe MTS could have won the Maac that season. COVID was the only thing that prevented a Maac championship. We know the rest of the story. It's a great day to be an Orange Saint.

GMAC oozes competitiveness w an edge … can’t see him blowing this opportunity… It’s all uphill … enjoy the ride … looking forward to seeing the roster being built over next couple of weeks

I'll renew, but I'm waiting to see what the composition of the team. I'm betting that McNamara will put together a solid staff and bring in players that will win in the MAAC and hopefully out of conference. Wilmoth looks like a good first step.

I have no aversion to Syracuse, but adding Orange to the Saints is an affront to my Irish heritage. ;-)

One more ingredient Glen, commitment by college, to head coach salary, asst coach budget, recruiting budget. Type of kid you can get into school. without a commitment by school, rest doesn't matter

Tony - you may be spot on. It does appear that the president has devoted significantly more resources for this coach than we have previously. It also appears that as the saying goes "ask and yee shall receive". That said, I have zero visibility into any of the financials behind the scenes so this is just supposition. I've heard conflicting reports on the fiscal health of the school. I've heard that the endowment is treated like a sacred cow and I've also heard we're spending it down like mad. I have no idea what the truth is but I think the new president sees the hoop program minimally as a loss leader if not a straight up asset. I'm really hoping that GMac can right the ship because I think this is the last try.
On a related note, the new MAAC commissioner mentioned at the presser yesterday that the MAAC was a basketball first (paraphrasing) conference. That is THE FIRST TIME I've heard that in any official capacity. The new guy may yet turn this league around. IMO that was a key differentiator between the MAAC and the A10. They make no bones about being a hoop league. Hockey, baseball, LAX, are fine but that's not what makes a the league. Hopefully all the MAAC schools are upping their game...or moving down. I think many schools may be in a financial pickle.
