Vote for your choice for who you want as the next Siena men’s basketball head coach.

I voted for Murray, as I think he is an absolute home run being the right hand man for the best coach in college hoops right now. I would be happy with McNamara too. Let’s get one of these two and start recruiting

Murray is the biggest guy here, again I'd be absolutely shocked if we pull it off. He should be able to get a better job than us, I imagine the interest leaked is coming from our end. Either way, love being linked to bigger names.

I would choose McNamara first as he comes from a good program in Syracuse, and Boehiem is high on him. He is also young, hungry to be a HC, and realizes the importance of the new Portal game. Secondly, I would say Will Brown. Even though he ticked me off as Albany coach, I still respect his abilities. He also recruited well with the Patroons, and did well with St Rose, even though there was not too much recruiting. He seems to be an good in game coach.

Three way tie: Langel Fee Copeland … if one of the rest would be telegraphing level of commitment

Either way, love being linked to bigger names. One name I forgot was UConn associate head coach Kimani Young who is actually ahead of Murray in the pecking order on Dan Hurley’s staff. I don’t see Murray getting a better job. Maybe A10 but there’s not many of these jobs. He probably can be picky. Had Fairfield done a full search he probably would have been involved as he was once an assistant coach there.

If Murray becomes Siena head coach, FF fans heads will explode rightfully

I voted for Fee because I think that system would be incredibly fun to watch. Would be completely on board with a Murray hire. Skeptical of McNamara.

The program needs an "exciting" hire to reenergize the program and fan base and stop the bleeding on season ticket losses. Murray, GMac or Fee would meet that criteria, but Murray and GMac lack head coaching experience, and Fee has no DI recruiting experience while the other two have that experience. Hiring a new coach is always a crap shoot at this level. That said, Murray and GMac may come with some potential NIL funding and that can be very beneficial in getting talent into the program with so many empty slots.

If they can recruit good talent that’s half the battle. We need to get back to where we can recruit New England effectively down through the east coast to DC with some Philly kids too. There is a reason our recruits come from all over the country now

There is a reason our recruits come from all over the country now Recruiting is the key. Superior talent usually wins out in the long run. I agree there is a lot of talent on the east coast, but with the portal being such a big factor, I believe you have to get the best talent no matter what the geographical location. Murray and GMac both are recruiters so that wouldn't be a problem if they were the hire.

Freshman are afterthoughts.

Anyone who takes over will be set up for immediate improvement due to the complete destruction of the program by the ineptitude of the prior coach. I knew he was bad but didn't see this coming. For instance if the new guy gets 20 plus wins and a maac championship he will be one and done unfortunately. It will then be up to the search committee to reload. The only way to keep a successful coach here is to pay him which we know will never happen unless we get a very generous donation or donations from alumni and outside sources. I'm glad to be back.

Welcome back, Mr. Ortiz. Credit to you— Carm was overmatched wasn’t bad luck he just sucked. Siena is committed otherwise Carm would still be here. I don’t know the exact buyout (heard various things) but the boosters are sick of losing and paid up. And they will pay the new coach a solid salary and increase it as he wins. I’m under no illusion Siena will keep a very successful coach more than 4 or 5 years but I do believe the new administration is committed to paying a salary that will make it “Power-5 or bust”. D’Arg will be gone by next year. We’ll have a new AD hopefully a person who is basketball centric. Chuck Seifert is going to oversee a complete rebranding after the last 14 years of being in the wilderness. It’s a new day at Siena.
