I just hope some of the SU hate and envy doesn't cloud fans vision of a SU great coming here. Newsflash lookat what Carm has managed to do to this program. Only one way to go. 4-34 just let that sink in.. As long as he doesn’t run up the score on our opponents I have no issues with this hire We'll empty the bench early. I hope it will be a problem!

I really would prefer a proper search. This seems rushed and like they are going for the name. He may end up being a great coach. Are there better options? Who knows because no search was done (if this plays out).
This is where I condemn D'Arg. Everyone could see this season unfolding with a disastrous finish. Sure, he didn't want to bin Carm but he should have had a list of top-10 candidates well before the end of the season. As a matter of fact, D'Arg should have a running list at all times. For Siena, either the coach stinks and he's fired or he's great and poached. Either way you need a replacement. To start the process mid-end of March is ludicrous. That list of candidates should be a priority weekly for D'Arg.

You guys shouldn't worry. My guess is Siena is waiting for optimal press attention. they will announce the hiring when press gets here for NCAA reginal. That means ESPN, etc. Yeah, ESPN and the LA Times reporter cant wait to hear who we hired!! LMAO The Kim Mulkey article and tapes of her using the N-word are going to drop right as the LSU plane lands at ALB. No one will care who Siena hired.

Plus today is Chuck’s birthday If I knew when the Siena president’s birthday was you’d have me under investigation lol Seriously if the presser is Thursday then Siena should tweet something out today confirming they have indeed hired Gerry McNamara. The media has had it since Monday that it was going to be GMAC and Siena has been very quiet.

You better hope Gerry buys in CP so you can stalk him too

Competing with the Taylor Swift of college basketball would be a monumental mistake.

Unsuccessful franchises decide who to draft based on who the GM/coach has in their mind that they want the most. Successful franchises spend months analyzing every possible contender and then reach a consensus opinion among the scouting department, coaches, front office, and ownership to make their selection. I like Gerry as the next coach and at this point I hope it happens quickly but it wouldn't have hurt to bring a few other candidates in for some leverage in negotiations at the least. And I certainly would have at least reached out to Luke Murray to see if he had any interest along with a few others that we had on our wish list. We don't have time considering the best players in the portal will be placed before we make a decision. Is this actually true? I have not paid attention much to the timing of kids in the portal picking their new schools but not only are the kids from the 16 best schools in the land not yet in the portal but how many kids are going to make their move before waiting to hear what those teams have to say? Seems like the bulk of the kids that make their decision now either already had their mind made up prior to entering the portal or aren't good enough and will jump at the first offers for fear they might not be there later.
