Leaks are BS. There should be a definitive statement at some point next week. A press release indicating that we'll be starting a search or a sit-down with Carm and AD (maybe D'Arg or new person) laying out the plan for next year. If the latter, someone needs to smack the arrogance and smug out of Carm prior.

Siena’s season is over and the coaching carousel and portal are in full swing so there’s absolutely no reason to wait until next week.

And it should have been made weeks ago. I don’t want to hear about not announcing something during the tournament, or the President is on vacation, etc. The only thing worse than keeping Carm on is letting this thing fester and then announcing a week from now that he is staying. There should have been some announcement, one way or another, yesterday.

I realize they fired their coach mid season, which is something we should have done, but this decision needs to be sooner, much sooner than later. I keep telling myself they will move in a different direction but I am feeling the tea leaves say something different. This program needs a big change. All it has done under him is regress, to the point of what we just saw. 4-28 folks, 4-28, that is enough said.

Just read the Gazette article (didn’t read the TU so don’t know if it was in there) but this alone should be reason fire Carm….”I don’t think I’ve fully grasped what else I could’ve done.”
Really?? How about…. - filling all scholarships - recruiting some experienced players from the portal - not having to rely on walkon’s - admitting your 1 for 3 and European recruiting approaches were a bust - have an offense other than a semi globetrotter weave around the 3 pt line - try to play a zone when your guards are getting blown by like a hitchhiker on the Northway - accepting responsibility and not throwing your players under the bus until the last two weeks when you are trying to save your ass and still dont think its your fault (which that quote clearly proves once again!).
If you dont know how you screwed up, why should anyone believe you deserve a chance to fix it?!

Siena won’t announce anything— if they are making a change— until Monday at the earliest. The MAAC tournament is going on and the Siena women are still playing. I’m not saying I agree with it but this is how they always handled it. Let’s see what happens.

Agreed, did everyone running Saints March On die or did they march out of the country while Carm crashed and burned the program and their NIL players? They have been completely radio silent during the last half of Carm's record breaking meltdown of a season. Not sure how they expect to get support if they aren't communicating to the fanbase and those who might fund the collective. My wallet is closed to anything Siena for the foreseeable future. I refuse to fund this shit show. Can we point to anything positive these days when it comes to Siena Men's basketball? Anything? SMO is still alive and well. Haven't had much to tweet about given the course of the season, specifically about MBB. Certainly as disappointed as anyone on these boards as to how things went. But we went into this understanding that NIL was necessary to compete and we still believe that. We've learned quite a bit over the course of our first year and will be making some changes in our operation and strategy including new ways to raise NIL $ and how we allocate those funds. Lots to consider as we head into this offseason but you can be sure SMO will be in the mix as the portal opens up on March 18. Also, keep an eye on our WBB team. Coach Jim has a special core of players and a great class coming in. I expect them to make some noise in AC again this year and remember the collective was established for all Siena athletes not just MBB. Thanks for the update Frank. Maybe Coach Jim can carve some time out of his schedule to teach Carm how to set up an effective full court press, or how to mix up your defenses including several different zones to keep the other team off balance and get them out of rhythm , or how to mix up your offensive sets so the other team isn’t calling out our play before we get the ball past half court,or teach and encourage your players so they actually look like they enjoy playing for you and show improvement from year to year. Just a thought.

Unfortunately, with Sanders making his committment public, it looks like Carm is back for another season.
I guess playing a season at the school gets you a pass on 4-28.

According to everything I’m reading letting Ca4m go would be the crime of the century.

$100,000 per win is pretty expensive but I guess that's the going rate these days

They can do what they want and we can do what we want. The comment from Carm above "I don't think I've grasped what more I could have done." means he has no idea what the problems were and therefore has no idea what to fix, let alone how to fix it. That, in itself, is a reason to not bring him back. It's one thing to fail but then go back to your boss and say hey, I know what happened and I know how to not let it happen again. Why on earth bring a guy back who can't even see his failures. Freaking insane, but OK, I'm not paying for it.

I stopped paying last year. It's liberating. Thought 💭 d go to see a few games anyway, never did. It will take a lot more than a few three star recruits to get me to return now.

What are 3 star recruits nowadays anyway? In this day and age of the "Portal" 3 star recruits are probabbly kids that weren't going tp a P6 or high major school anyway. Carms record shows, look at the frosh we had come in last year, that he doesn't know how to develop talent. Or do their handlers know that Siena is bringing in someone who does? Anyway, I doubt moves like this are going to keep season ticket holders in their seats. At least not mine.

In the Franciscan tradition maybe Siena is allowing Carm to attend Final Four on Its dime to network for an assistant’s job before an announcement is made otherwise time is being wasted if Siena intends to can him
