Ugh! And there is our answer about Carm's future. We are stuck with him and yes D'Arg is a big part of the problem. Very Sad. Until both of them go, it looks like we are stuck with the status quo.

Not necessarily if you go back he said the same thing during the season when Lanier, Mitch and Jimmy got fired. It’s the same bullshit “vote of confidence” from this fool. He doesn’t make the decisions he’s a glorified mouthpiece.

They aren’t eating the contract, plain and simple.

They aren’t eating the contract, plain and simple. The attendance will fall off a cliff. Good luck selling this program. We’ll have a whole new roster though.

I'm no fan of D'Arg but he's not going to come out with "This is bullsh!t. This team stinks and Carm will probably be fired at the end of the season so please be patient."
Though, I have to say I'd actually appreciate that.

D'Arg comments is all you need to know about the direction of Siena basketball with him and Carm in charge. Those early wins were mainly from on the backs of Jalen Pickett and Manny Camper whom neither were recruited by Carm. PS Let's all fans show up on february 18th in respect for our 1994 teams run in the NIT's GO SAINTS!!

D'Arg should have been shown the door when he hired his one-time roommate Bob Beyer over Joe Mihalich to replace Mike Deane. Beyer couldn't coach, like most of D'Arg's hires. The fact that the AD looked the other way and swept Beyer's shenanigans with the student body under the rug was/is a disgrace, especially at a Catholic school. The players despised Beyer so much, that during his second season, the entire roster was set to go to the media to refuse to play for him, but D'Arg threatened all their scholarships if word of the potential mutiny leaked.
Yet, despite all his failures as AD he has worked himself into a VP position. What other D-1 program would keep an AD for 31 years when its main revenue-raising sports had had 11 losing seasons and hasn't reached the NCAA tournament in almost 15 years during his tenure? That's why I gave up my season tickets in 2018 when Christian was hired as head coach. The President and BOT do not care about winning seasons, but only about the revenue generated from ticket sales. Mediocrity and a watered-down, and now bottom of the NCAA rankings, product is accepted as long as season tickets remain in the 5,000 range.

We aren’t stupid Darg, you refer to the body of work….but the last 3 yrs Carm is 35-46………that is not a small sample size AND even worse the record is trending further downward reflected by the current 3-17 mark and 3-23 from the tailspin at the end of last season . …..

I have so much to say about this disaster and this article in particular but my hands would hurt from so much typing so I will spare you all. I dont get all warm and fuzzy from this article that we will have a new direction after this year. I fully get it he cant go into this article and say Carm is cooked at the end of the year. However, some measured criticism and recognition of what this program means to so many would be welcome. My gut still tells me there are so many built in excused that D'arg will use when the season is over. Sick of hearing how young, sick of hearing about the NIL and portal, sick of all of the excuses and how good we were in the first two seasons. Does anyone remember Carm getting embarassed by Pitino in the Quarters in year 2? To me that is when this team took its dive and its been downhill ever since. I fully expect Carm back next season and that is not a good situation, so hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised but I am not holding my breath on that one.

I made the sad and difficult decision to not renew my men’s basketball (still have women’s) season tickets this year after over three decades. I will be back when they make changes. Financial impact is the only thing that will get their attention.

Reading D'Arg's comments in that article made me want to puke. He and Siena leadership are the real reason why this program is a mess. I've been critical of Carm, and he's not helping, but simply firing him and replacing him with another lazy hire is not going to solve the real problems in the program.

Siena and the basketball program will get zero donations, ticket revenue, merchandise sales, or my money in any capacity until both Carm and D'Arg are no longer there. I will specifically inform the school of my position. Although my money might not make a difference, a large number of people doing the same might. Please join me in withholding support of Siena and the basketball program until they take themselves seriously.

Exactly! Your statement is the reality of what has come to fruition with our program! Certainly not BS coming out D'Arg's mouth!
