Why didn't they play Fairfield? I don’t know if they play out of conference teams or not but the primary reason I see why Siena doesn’t play Fairfield or Iona is because those two teams are in a higher division (D1 versus D1AA). Siena is new to the D1AA level (moved up a level from last year). I’m hoping that Siena continues to excel and maybe move up to the D1 level (soon). www.libertyrugbyconference.com/standings

Ok, I’m officially confused. I thought FF played in a higher league.

I don’t understand what happened.
Siena trailed 24-28 w/about 6-7 mins left.
A few back and forths and Siena scores w/about 1 min left and lead 29-28.
Siena had the ball as time expired. But then FF somehow got a kick attempt for a FG and wins the game 32-29.
Then some more confusing stuff w/the officials huddling up trying to decide something. Then they talk to the two coaches and FF coach pumps his fists and FF wins.
I wish I understood what happened (no announcers/okay by play guy).
Also, can someone explain why we (a D1AA team/league) were playing FF in the first place (I thought they’re a D1A or D1 league)?
I thought there’s multiple levels and last year Siena won the lowest and moved up a level this year; so why were we playing a D1 or D1A team?

Looks like Siena had the ball but turned it over to Fairfield with some sort of penalty just before time expired.

I still consider this a good year. It’s only year two and while Siena didn’t win a second championship in a row they did move up in class/competition and still received a bye in the Liberty conference playoffs and went directly to the next round.

Wow!!! Talk about waiting a year to get even for FF squeaking past Siena last year in the playoffs; Saints dominate FF 21-3 today to remain undefeated 3-0. FF drops to 2-2.

The Saints are off this weekend but have a tough match on Tuesday against Iona. Iona getting some love in the Goff Report. x.com/SienaMBB/status/1712837459384373646?s=20“ And Siena moved to 4-0 with a 52-8 defeat of Nazareth. Paced by a pair of tries by each of the captains—outside center Ben Burridge and No. 8 Andrew McCallum. Flyhalf Isaac Frost ran the attack well and converted five tries. Siena's attack is firing nicely with an average of 37 points per game and they are allowing an average of 11 per game.” Standings as of last weekend. Siena & Brown both undefeated at 4-0 but Siena leads in standings. www.libertyrugbyconference.com/standings

Brown beat Iona this weekend in the battle of unbeaten.
Currently, Brown sits in 1st place 5-0 (22pts) and Siena 2nd 4-0 (19pts) but Siena plays Iona at Ione Wed night at 7:00pm.
If Siena wins they should remain in 1st place or at a minimum be tied for 1st with one game remaining (against Fordham on Sun afternoon).
Let’s Go Saints, and wrap up an undefeated regular season going into the playoffs.
