Lanier bought him here, but it was a blessing he got fired. Not sure how much of a chance he would have gotten behind Jack McClinton, Kojo Mensah and Albert Fisher. Things worked out just fine for him! Biggest game on the biggest stage. That’s how legends are made! Those names speak volumes for just how good a recruiter Lanier was. Unfortunately, he was lost when it came to coaching up that talent.

Name 5 players who could have been starters on a winning ACC team.

Key to this answer is what year? As a freshman? Probably none. As upperclassmen, a few. AND "winning" doesnt mean a 28-3 Duke or NC team. A nice 17-13, mid level ACC team. Also has to be at least a decade ago before kids just ran to another school with that "5th year" rule.
Brown, Bennerman, Hasbrouck, Ubiles, Franklin & Rossiter.

UVA won the title last year with Kihei Clark as their starting PG. Pickett is better than Kihei Clark, and was last year as a freshman as well.

Pickett, Ryan Rossiter, Brown, Bennerman, Prosper off the top of my head. Probably Moore, Kenny, and Eddy Ubiles too.
Honestly though, given we know that MAAC guys consistently move up as transfers, the list may be longer. Kassius Robertson started on a Mizzou team that I think made the NCAA Tournament. Takal Molson is going to start or at least play big minutes for Seton Hall next year. I think guys like Bisping, Quis, JO, and Elijah from recent memory would have been recruited to play big roles if they had another year of eligibility.

He relied too much on bullying weaker and less athletic interiors. See Ohio State game. It was RyRo who won that game for us. Franklin really struggled.

You do realize Franklin has 19 and 7 two days later against Louisville, right?
