He picked the wrong system for his game I think. I was worried about his 3pt shooting consistency for JC...but liked the rest of his potential. He had a solid A/TO ratio this year. You can't teach '6-6 athletic PG.' www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/shawn-walkerjr-1.htmlI think he would have been better in a system more focused on getting to the rim...like Carm's. It's a shame. A redshirt year should give him more time to work on his shooting though.

He’s probably a take if we want him. The RS year would help because it would separate him another year from the Jalen & Don class to be the future of the backcourt with Carpenter. Will be interesting.
As I recall, Carm was the one who brought him to JC, so there’s familiarity there. Wonder if egos get in the way though and we decide we don’t want JC’s sloppy seconds.

I'd take him if we have 2+ to give. His potential is real. He's like a Harris..if Harris was a PG.
His FT rate was pretty high compared to what Pickett and Carey are doing as well. He could be a nice PPS guy down the line once he improves his jumper and is more focused on the rim.

I'd take him for sure even if we have one to give unless we are really close on an impact big. If Luke, Jimmy, and Denzel are 11, 12, and 13 next year we will be fine with a sit out transfer (and more than fine if Luke makes a sophomore jump). Carm loves big guards so Walker would be a perfect fit.

I doubt Shawn would even want to come to Siena- Jalen, Don and probably Aiden are flat out better-- Jordan shoots much better. Really not a lot of playing time for Shawn at Siena until Don/Jalen leave. So I doubt Carm would take him to be our 5th guard

So I doubt Carm would take him to be our 5th guard not knowing what Walker wants............but know that Carm is actively recruiting guards now..........which is why he was chasing Silver, as we know the MAAC is a guards league, never ever have enough and Walker has some skills that could thrive here at Siena in Carms system...............imho........

He's also has a better handle than Harris. He was likely lost in JC's pass around the perimeter for a three offense. With a year to sit out...he'd only be behind Jalen and Don for 1 year....and at 6-6....playing another position altogether is not out of the question either.

Sit behind Don/ Jalen for a year ( probably two as transfer sit out rule is probably gone this year) - behind Aiden for 3/4 years. And while Shawn probably is better than Jordan in everything but shooting-- well that is going to be Jordan's role- as second guard off bench a designated shooter, Shawn isnt beating Jordan out for that role. And Gary is flat out better athlete with higher "upside" than Shawn. Again he wouldnt be horrible - but when you think about it- he really isnt a good fit for us. Which shows how far the talent on this team has come in two short years-- When we signed him we were all excited about it

I mean, how greedy are we now? We spent all this time recruiting Mekhi Gray....a 6-4/6-5 athlete who has a questionable shot and wasn't a PG...yet we'd turn down a 6-6 athlete who can? I doubt it.

Hey Shawn would be better than Darwhicy or Ratliff-- no denying that-- but just dont see much playing time for the young man at Siena. he would have his hands full seeing time on the court-- heck he didnt do much last year on shitty GW team- so odds for him are not good on "loaded" Siena team. I dont think he wants to leave GW and come to Siena to be at best 9th,10th or 11th man for next two years

We're recruiting better..... Yup all the best to Walker but he had his chance at Siena. I fully trust Carm and the staff. Carm is a better recruiter than his predecessor.

Still super early but some early swing and misses from JC. Walker and Sutherland not offering much. Young appears to be solid.

May I remind you his predecessor got Pickett. Hopefully Carpenter is great but we'll have to wait and see how they turn out before a declaration like that.
