Because he can?
Vermont and Colgate’s PGs are declaring too. If you are declaring as a junior, there’s no real drawback.

Good for him - no reason not to with the current player freedoms allowed. Hopefully he gets some positive feedback that helps him even further develop his game, so long as that feedback isn't suggesting he starts shooting 5+ threes a game :-)

Because the reality check can be painful...... As a frosh or sophomore sure but you got nothing to lose as a junior. Help make contacts too after graduating.

I was expecting to read "April Fool's" when I saw this thread, but if it's true I hope it helps Manny and Siena next season. Unfortunately, Covid might make it impossible to test the waters this spring.

With or without A he's still in GLeague. So what? I have no problem with Camper testing the waters. It’s available and he had a good year. Worst case for him is that he had a chance to do some workouts. Pretty sure he can also start talking to agents for his post Siena career. Likely he ends up in Europe, this helps him towards that end as well.

Yeah - they'll grab a bunch of "one and done" players and then social distance them once things return to normal...

Good for Manny! Don't see what's crazy about it, he fits the prototype of a reserve wing in the NBA - if Torrey Craig can be a starter on a playoff team I don't see why Manny can't get a shot at some point. His rebounding and foul drawing are off the charts for a guy his size, and if he can work on his shooting enough to hit corner 3s at a good enough clip (big if) he can be an ideal low usage 5th option that thrives on catch-and-shoot jumpers and dirty work buckets. Defense would actually be my biggest question mark for him, because even though he's good on that end NBA guys in that role are typically expected to guard the other team's top wing, and I haven't seen Manny be that lockdown guy. His steals/blocks are also underwhelming. But I think Manny's biggest asset is his work ethic so who knows where he'll be in a few years.

Love mannys athleticism and motor, but his game needs alot of work for the next level. At 6'7" these days in the league you need to hit shots and we cant just hope he finds an outside game in the league. At that size these days you need to have a huge hoops IQ and create your own shot. Kevin huerter is the perfect example and many isn't close to the player Kevin is. That said, it will be a good experience and an opportunity to get a checklist of where his game needs to improve.
