Tough to know if any of this is on Carm with all the uncertainty caused by Jalen's journey. But going from Falzon and Edwards to the guys we are looking at now would have gotten Patsos crucified here.

Not even close to being true-- only person who thought that was hockeyguy. I dont think any of us envisioned Jalen being 1st team ALL MAAC - but anyone who knew a lick about recruiting knew Jalen was a good pick up for us I'm not worried about Carm yet-- but as a new head coach he has not yet shown ability to "close" the deal. I'm sure he is learning as he goes. As Siena fans we are all rooting for him to get that 1st commitment, and eventually land a "prize" recruit. It's still early no need to panic, but no denying its been a rocky start on 2019 recruits

Carm gets credit for holding on to two of the three who committed to Jamion.
Vereen was second team All-District of Columbia as a senior CG at Maret School. Not sure he isn't as good or better than Edwards.

Vereen is a 2 star who’s only other offer was Hartford another low major program. My guess head to head, Edwards is a much much better player. If Vereen was in the BE how good would he look?

At this point it doesn’t matter who’s the 5 star and who’s the 2 star. It’s who is the better player and can make more of an immediate impact

It’s who is the better player and can make more of an immediate impact Vereen shot it at 34% from the floor and averaged 5 ppg over 3 years on a bad VMI team. With similar stats I’ll take Edwards with experience playing against BE comp. With that said I think the 2 kids from Providence are going elsewhere, figure one of the two would have signed on by now.

Tony, you say Carm has yet shown the ability to close the deal. Given the Jalen NBA business, you have to be dreaming Exactly how do you think he could have done that. I thought you were more of a realist.

I guess so. If I were a 5year transfer, among other things, I would favor a team which had a chance to go to the NCAAs. If such a team had a very good player, who may not be there next year, I would look elsewhere. That doesn't mean I don't think Jalen shouldn't have tried the draft, but I'm just pointing out how it makes recruiting more difficult.

It's still early no need to panic, but no denying its been a rocky start on 2019 recruits Tony please get it right. I DID questions JP's recruiting of Pickett based on the only 2 other offers that he had when JC signed him, apparently recruiters at 350 other D1 schools don't "know a lick about recruiting" either. However, no one was "crucified". This is a message board where differing opinions are supposed to be tolerated, is it not? EDIT: From page 92 of the 2018 recruiting page: "Verbal commits has him listed as only having offers from Siena and division 2 Lincoln Memorial. I know JC has only been coach for 24 hours and it's playing catch-up, but this seems like the typical Patsos recruit I thought we were trying to get away from." This not my post but another frequent poster.

What happen to ALL the 2019 players we offered on Verbal Commits? What chased them away?? Did Siena aim too high? I wonder if all of them were Jamion's recruits. Anyway we need another big or strong forward. Right now the 2019 slate looks barren.
