At this point, as long as he stays healthy, Jalen is a lock for RoY. In my mind he is clearly one of the top 5 players in conference. But considering Siena is a likely mid pack ( at best finisher) I can’t see MAAC coaches putting a freshmen 1st team ALL MAAC – if you put a gun to my head right now I’d say 2nd team ALL MAAC for Jalen and Evan fisher will have a shot ( not a good one) for 3rd team. But it's going to be tough for Evan to make any ALL MAAC team, he may get caught up in numbers game. He will need to finish season very strong to have any shot I think you’re wrong on fisher. He’s sitting at 6th in scoring,4th in rebounding and 2nd in field goal percentage. And he’s a senior, the maac loves to reward seniors. If the season ended today, he’s at least 2nd team. The bigger debate is whether Pickett gets on an all maac team in addition to being named rookie of the year. I think he deserves the honor but we’ll see. I believe he would be the first Siena freshman ever to make an all maac team.

I'm not disputing Evan's having a great year- but it's a numbers game . 8 players back from last years ALL MAAC teams-- all 8 having solid years. Rider got 4 guys on last year, this year they are likely to win at least as many games as last year ( 15) if not more- so those 4 are locks for ALL MAAC - so that leaves 7 spots open. Marvin Prochet of Niagara has to get one of them ( 4th leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder) Turner at SPC ( 2nd leading scorer in conference) Molson of Canisius ( last years RoY and 5th leading scorer in conf) Salnave of Monmouth ( Hawks leading player) are all locks to get in ahead of Fisher. So that leaves 3 spots open-- personally I think Pickett is by far best player on Siena and gets a spot-- that leaves two spots open- Iona is likely to finish 2nd or 3rd- how do they only get one spot. Crawford close to a lock, that leaves one spot open. Do you leave off a player from FF, a player leading MAAC in rebounding and field goal pct in Kasibabu? What about Monmouth, does Hammond get a spot? Townes Robb of Niagara ? Agee and or Gist of Iona? While Evan can make a team, he is going to have to finish season strong, very strong. Easy to say so and so should make a team, but when you look at the numbers not that "easy"

Well I don’t think he is anywhere near the Lock you guys think. Right now the only way I see him making it( and this is a definite possibility) is if they leave off Jalen. Siena likely only gets 1 all MAAC spot, while Rider, Iona and Monmouth likely get 8 or more spots and deservedly so- the MAAC coaches always reward the top teams. And some of you guys pushing for Fisher—were same guys pushing for 5 spots for Fran’s Siena teams ( didn’t we get 3 or 4 first teamers and 1 second teamer one year? ) , even though their numbers weren’t as gaudy as players from weaker teams

If you ask me, and no one is/has, I think if Evan continues at his current pace (stat/play wise) the MAAC will reward him on one of the three all MAAC teams simply because he’s one of the most improved person over the other players who were on the teams last season.
That coupled with him being a senior.
Just think if he is to reach the Siena 1000 point threshold getting 2/3’s if his 1000 points in his final Sr year that’s a great accomplishment. I believe the MAAC will reward that.

I agree with Tony... Jalen gets second team, Fisher has a chance for third team if Siena finishes high enough.

It would literally be an all-time rig-job if Jalen isn't at least 2nd team. There is literally no justification for it. He is putting up historic numbers (17 players, and only 1 other freshman, in the last 25 years have replicated his statline, and that freshman is Lonzo Ball). He has almost singlehandedly made us not suck. He leads the MAAC in win shares, points produced per game, player efficiency rating, and box +/- and is second nationally in assist rate. By almost every measure, he's the most valuable player in the MAAC.
He should absolutely be a first teamer by any measure, but i can understand the freshman bias bumping him to second team. It would be utterly absurd if he isn't 2nd team.

I just hope he stays. With the crop that we have coming in and the group we have now (and how they've progressed ), It could be a stellar year next year.

I agree on Jalen, in my mind he is absolutely one of the 5 best players in conference and a good case for conference PoY .. but Young is having a great year and a senior, so I wouldn't quibble with him being PoY -- and agreed on 2nd team, he deserves 1st team. but as a freshman what can you say. "O" well still 6 weeks to go, lets see how things pan out, but unless Siena finishes top 5-- I really can't see Saints getting more than 1 ALL MAAC player. Would be a shame if Jalen isnt at least 2nd team

Here is funny thing, Jalen actually had better stats that Reese who won PoW award
Reese 13 ppg | 6.5 rpg | 8.0 apg | 2.5 bpg Pickett 16 ppg | 5.5 rpg | 6.5 apg | 2.0 spg
Griffs did go 2-0 for the week So Reese deserved it.. just sayn

Would be a shame if Jalen isnt at least 2nd team Some history on all-MAAC rookies: Derek Needham at FF was a second-teamer in 2009-10 when he tied the MAAC record of 10 ROW wins with Lionel Simmons. Kenny didn't make an all-conference team in 2005-06 despite winning ROW 8 times. Casimir at Iona was a second-teamer when he won ROW 8 times in 2014-15. Dixon at Quinny didn't make an all-league when he won ROW 6 times in 2016-17. Jalen has a very real chance of catching Needham and Simmons with I believe 6 weeks left. We'll see. If he does that, he should probably get POY and might get some more momentum for that.
