Last year, a lot of people thought Jalen was just some last ditch left over Patsos recruit. Now he's preseason POY.
Who knows what the view of him will be after this year?

You intrigued me. So, I shall deliver in annoyingly anal detail.
Here's what I think will happen. Less total mins, but offset by tempo and efficiency, resulting in near the same results in less mins. I'd love to see Pickett get to around a 1.33 PPS. (It was 1.36 in available stats from Aquinas).
APG might only modestly change because there will be other options and he'll handle less but others could also be more efficient at scoring off his passes...and tempo will shift upward.
So, for those who are as bored at work and obsessed with numbers as I am:
Stat --- Now --- Next Year Games --- 33 --------- 33
Mins ---- 1225 ------ 1122 MPG ----- 37.1 ------ 34.0 PPG ----- 15.8 ------ 17.0 RPG ------ 4.6 ------- 5.2 APG ------ 6.7 ------- 7.0 TPG ------ 2.4 ------- 2.5 A/TO ---- 2.792 ----- 2.800 FG% ---- 43.6% ---- 47.4% 3PT% --- 34.8% ---- 36.5% FT% ---- 74.6% ----- 75.8% Stls ------ 66 -------- 68 BLKs ----- 29 -------- 30 FTM ------ 88 ------- 100 FTA ------ 118 ------- 132 3PM ------ 65 -------- 62 3PA ------ 187 ------ 170 FGM ----- 184 ------- 200 FGA ----- 422 ------- 422 PTS ----- 521 ------- 562 PPS --- 1.235 --- 1.332
I think Pickett will take less threes but make around the same and get a lot more easier 2's...which will raise his FG% and PPS.
Bump. Still think this might be close...but he may play a little more than I thought back then.

I have a great deal of respect for Jalen's abilities and skills as a basketball player, but I can't believe he is even close to being the 25th best player in college basketball. Might be in the top 25 in abilities as a basketball player. Unfortunately just not in the top 200 in terms of athleticism. I'm sure that would limit him quite a bit if he played at a higher level. Yes he's at the right level...he has a chance to be a pro (NBA) but it will take time. I hope he understands that. Mid-majors stars are there most have been four year guys like Lillard and McCallum.

Is there a point to this? how is he perceived as "a last ditch left over patsos recruit"? just wondered. Pickett was ultimately signed by Christian, but he was originally recruited by Patsos who was planning to offer him if Pickett got his academics in order. Patsos of course never got the chance to make good on that as he was out before Pickett got his grade. So when Pickett was signed, some referred to him as a typical Patsos recruit with few offers that Christian picked up late out of desperation to find players.

Find your own heads. I'm not gonna pick a fight for you. I just don't recall anyone ever saying that. Was wondering where it came from.
