If he's truly got an NBA future staying at Siena is the smartest thing. Getting buried at a big school will kill your future. I'm not worried. And is poaching very common at Siena or in the MAAC? Not to my knowledge. Poaching is common everywhere, it’s just less effective the higher up you get. Pickett should stay and go nuts... worst case he blows up next year like Morant at Murray State and you lose him because he’d be a first rounder. I know it's a problem in the NEC but not really a problem in the MAAC especially not at Siena. This does not take into account a guy like McClinton who left when his coach was fired. I'm not worried he seems like a head with a head of his shoulders. There is a lot of risk moving around. This will be his team and you add Carey/Burns and you have a chance to go dancing in year two.

If you don’t think Jalen, Jalen’s mom, and Jalen’s HS, prep, and AAU coaches won’t be getting calls this offseason, you’re crazy. The question is whether Jalen wars to listen.

No longer just college kids saying Jalen is a draft prospect... It was a HS kid wasn’t it? Now this? Ugh. This type of hype isn’t good for him. Yeah the program gets mentioned, but now this kid has “NBA” in his head, and he’s a longgggg way from being an NBA player. Hope he handles the accolades with a clear head. He’ll be fine/handle it fine; he doesn’t even read or take much stock in those things. He’s about the team.

I know it's a dirty business. But that's tampering. I'm sure they tried it with Hasbrouck, Ubiles etc too. Jamion has to consistently re-recruit.

NEC is the bottom of D1 - a feeder system. And I’m not going with this years RPI. One of the reason’s JC left his alma mater.

That’s a big part of my “Ugh” when seeing this. Poaching is very common, and with his name continually being floated around, it’s a scary development. And if he does go, this would be the summer with 3 years left. If he's truly got an NBA future staying at Siena is the smartest thing. Getting buried at a big school will kill your future. I'm not worried. And is poaching very common at Siena or in the MAAC? Not to my knowledge. Are pros common in the MAAC? Especially freshman?

Good to see Jamion come up with an answer in the last 5 minutes to bigs jumping out to double Jalen on the pick and roll. Having Fisher set a 2nd pick on the guard allowed Jalen to reverse his dribble and get some penetration to get his shot off or make an easier pass. This will help give him more room when other teams try the same thing.

And he also had Camper in there who can make a quick move to the basket and finish at the rim.

The first thing I noticed about Jalen when I saw him play was his confidence, he just oozes confidence without being cocky. As I said back in November I haven't seen a freshmen with that kind of confidence since Kenny Hasbrouck. Love Jamion's last sentence about Jalen and it's so true
“That’s why he’s won so much in his career and that’s why he’s going to win a lot here.”
Can't wait to see Jalen with Carey/ Richard/ Walker in back court with him

Jalen seems to be as complete a package as you can find at the MAAC level. Good handle, can shoot the three, has mid-range pull-up game and can get to the rack. Also a strong defender. He has far exceeded my expectations.
He plays point in a way that I'm unaccustomed to watching - he is very deliberate and purposeful in his movements around the perimeter, carefully looking for the best option to develop, it seems. I can hear people around me complaining of too much dribbling sometimes as he operates around the perimeter. In the end, he is the guy who needs the ball in his hands as he is so good at creating for others.
He is so good at creating for others, I wonder if he should ever be used extensively off the ball. Who's a better option at the point, even next year? I think nobody.

Who's a better option at the point, even next year? I think nobody. Maybe Don Carey as he is more of a natural PG but there’s no arguing with the results from Pickett. With that said I’m for leaving Pickett as the main ball handler. No need to fix what’s not broken

I think that Jalen will be PG in half court- but having several guards that can bring up the ball and take off pressure on Jalen, will be worth its weight in gold. Not to mention with natural scorers like Carey and Richard in back court it will make it next to impossible to double Jalen. Going to be a lot of fun for Siena fans to see that back court operate- although I don’t think rest of MAAC will enjoy it nearly as much
