Great win. I didn't get to catch any of game. How many threes? Checked boxscore 13-34. A coach at Siena finally gets it 3 is more than 2.

11 more wins till papi goes on a year long vacation. So much free time, what will he do with all of it. Love your confidence. Let's double up. The 3ball is a great thing.

I had feared a let down after the effort against the Friars. I don't think now JC will let that happen.

I had feared a let down after the effort against the Friars. I don't think now JC will let that happen. This is the best case start of the season. Let's see how it's going after 10 games, that will be a better gauge. Only 4 people picked a win in the season contest. Siena 2-0 ATS.

Has anyone told Huerter that the game is determined by points and you can't score any if you don't shoot. A 6'7" wing playing multiple minutes without taking a shot in 2 games is mind boggling. Defense, playmaking, etc, etc. are nice but points are better!

Defense, playmaking, etc, etc. are nice but points are better! I will cut him some slack this week cause I am pretty sure his grandfather (or other relative) died so his mind may be elsewhere. He will have to develop some confidence to take some 3s though or he will be out of the rotation. Ideally in the Mayhem system we have 4 players that can shoot the three on the court at one time. We've already got Camper, Friday, and Darwiche hesitant to take open threes but all of them bring a unique ability to justify time. Huerter without the confidence to shoot the 3 is just the poor man's Jimmy Ratliff. Hope he gets his confidence back soon.

Thomas did in fact have a significant family loss this week. He's a family oriented young man so I would expect that it is impacting his play at the moment.
He's a smart kid and uses his noggin on the court to help make up for any athletic shortcomings. Give him a week or so to get his head straight and IMO he'll contribute.

Looking at the TU article from Friday with the photo of Sloan & Jimmy boxing out a GW player for a rebound reminded me of a comment I wanted to make earlier but forgot.
Is it me or does it seem like we’re boxing out more this year? I think we are, at least watching the Providence game it looked like we were.
I think this year’s team is doing a lot more of “back to the basics” kind of stuff: boxing out, taking care of the ball better, not committing senseless fours (basically playing D under more control with spacing), finding the open man, etc..
The Women's Penn team did that to us yesterday. We continually tried to dribble through two “set” (and very tall) Penn defenders. We’d crash into their legs and fall down and we’re either called for the travel or loosing the ball. At first I was upset that the refs didn’t call the blick but then when I watched it happen again and again I noticed the Penn players weee set and it was their good spacing that caused our TOs.

Would love to see deadspin on do a story on the Jimbob saga that ended his time at Siena.

It would be fake news. The guy got fired for going 8-24 and being below .500 for 5 years. It doesn't fly at Siena.
