Does Siena plan on placing all home games on ESPN3 this season? Last year QU, Fairfield, Rider, Marist, Iona, Canisius and Monmouth placed their home games on ESPN3. Looks like Niagara is a go for this as season as well. maacsports.com/news/2018/9/6/men ... edule.aspx

I hope this is the case. However, in the few cases we were on ESPN3 last year, the games were blacked out in New York State, which really sucked for me, in New York, but a 5+ hour drive away out here in Olean.

The blacked out games were accessible shortly after the game ended.

My worry is will these productions move to ESPN+ instead?
That means you would pay 5 dollars a month for the service. It isn't a lot of money but these subscriptions (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.) do add up.
We will see.

MAAC Commish Rich Ensor kindly clarified that the EPSN3 compliant requirement for all member schools is for the 2019-2020 season. He mentioned most schools will provide ESPN3 coverage of home games in "varying degrees".

According to the MAAC Office, about half of the each school's home games broadcasted on ESPN3 will be carried on ESPN+. Good news... This should provide motivation for schools like Siena, SPU and Manhattan to become ESPN3 compliant in the very near future.

I live in southern Indiana and I have used(or at least tried to use all access) with some success. Could someone explain Espn + and Espn 3 to me. There must be other folks who live in other parts of the country who know how to get these channels. Maybe this should be in a new post but I'm not very successful with that either. Tough being a pre WWII baby living in the 21st century.

Both are online streaming channels only. If you have a cable/satellite package that includes ESPN, you also get free access to ESPN3 through the internet. You can go to WatchESPN.com and use the username and password associated with your cable company (it will give you a big list of accepted providers, you can find yours, click on it, and log in with those credentials). That should give you access to the games on ESPN3 through your computer (you can also sign in on a smartphone or tablet or smart TV and watch there). ESPN+ is a separate subscription-based service that you pay for directly through ESPN. It costs $5 a month (which is why I’m hoping that Siena moves its games there over the $8 per game all-access system) and will be tied to your free account you make at ESPN.com. That $5 a month will get you lots of live games in both college basketball and college football, plus some extra MLB and soccer, along with some documentary-style exclusive programming. It also gives you access to what used to be called ESPN Insider, which is written content. Once you pay for ESPN+, you can watch any games on there on a laptop, phone, tablet, smart TV, etc just by logging in with your ESPN account. To summarize: -both are online streaming models without a physical TV channel. -ESPN3 is accessed through your cable provider login, while ESPN+ is based through your ESPN.com login. -Content can be watched through WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app on your mobile devices. Feel free to shoot me a PM with questions as the season gets closer, I’ll try to help.
