Seems Ike it is heating up in here again ... take an educated guess of what you expect

I think it will be like Hewitts teams...we will win close games just because of conditioning

I'm thinking 12-15 but I do expect to be competitive with every tipoff. If the other team is better than us, so be it but boy oh boy, I am looking forward to a strategist who plays to the strengths of the kids on the roster. I have a great deal of faith with Kadeem and Evan being the floor leaders of Jamion Year 1.

I am not sure there is an end of the game, get a bucket kind of guy on the roster right now and that could hurt the record a little bit. But, as long as the team plays hard and is competitive, I'll see the season as a success. I can't comment on team leaders, but I think Richard and Shivers are the guys to watch this year. Richard is the best scorer on the team and seems to fit JC's system. Question on Shivers is whether he gets his confidence back. When he plays with confidence, he is a legit MAAC player.

Quackman- I agree on Richard and Shivers. My thinking is that Kadeem and Evan will be the vocal and emotional controllers of the floor and act more like 'coach assistants'. I hope that they all gain confidence and I do believe that will happen because the culture is now one based on hard work will bring success and success is the expected outcome.

We're still losing players. God knows where this team will end up.

While I would have liked to see what Bentley could have done in JC's system, his loss at this point will have minimal impact. We need players who why to buy into the system.
On paper this team looks to be shorthanded going into the season - though there's still time to add a useful piece or two - but I expect to see a huge improvement in buy-in from the players and X's & O's ... and that alone should yield more wins.

True. Right now we only have 10 eligible players because Carey has to sit out. If Smithen or Pickett get hurt, season's probably over...and Pickett's unproven as it is. This team is certainly not going to rebound...nor will it draw a lot of fouls. They're going to be soft and trying to play a soft perimeter style. I don't see it being a good year. It would probably take monster years from Smithen, Pickett, Shivers, and Camper especially to wreak any kind of real 'mayhem' in a tough league. There's just not enough of the speed or attacking depth...that they would need in order to make up for the soft frontcourt. Matching the 12 wins that Quinny did last year would be a solid achievement but I'm not sure it will be easy.

This year is year 0 for Jamion we can't judge how the next few years will be based off performance on the court by the players this year. He's left with Jimmy's recruits that were mostly bench or role players (although I like some) and had next to no time to recruit for this year. I'd like to see competitive and close games but don't let optimism about Jamion set a bar that isn't realistic to achieve. On paper, we're towards the bottom of the MAAC so don't be too upset if we do finish towards the bottom. I'm just hoping there's lots of promise on the court and crowd support to help bring in these recruits.

How we play is the big thing...we can lose but if there are no big coaching blunders and we look like cohesive well coached team that would be all the prediction of the future I would need

And good is a relative term. Any improvement can be arguably viewed as good. Let see what the final roster looks like. If they get Zdor, that's a potential game changer. I can see JC getting 12-14 wins out of this group just because everyone in the league is going to be caught off guard by his mayhem system the first time around. That ought to be good for a few unexpected wins. So lack of overall talent will be mitigated somewhat by the element of surprise.

I agree-these guys all have the potential to flourish in a culture that rewards hard work and effort - can't underestimate the power of a positive, motivational coach. I'd add in Thomas H too as both a producer and a leader.
